Great vids! Better than going to the movies! Nice troubleshooting in general and especially on the head. The detail on these vids is great for a newbie like me  . Makes me want to go out and get a Swift right now, but I'm still saving up.
Thanks Bob!

One thing to mention for those that have the ARF version is the belt tension is a lot tighter than Bob shows in the video. (At least mine was – please check yours if you have the ARF) There also was no mention in the ARF manual about belt tension because this assembly was already together. I loosened mine only because to me it felt way too tight. Now I am glad to hear Bob confirmed the amount of deflection.

Bob please double check the
VIDEO -> Tail Servo and Gyro (401) setup (50 megs) It is the taildrive and tail assembly without any gyro or servo. |

Bob,
I may of missed it in the vid's but which Futaba servos are you using? No one seems to agree on what works best in the Swift to what I can tell. Looking good, can't wait to see how it flies! |

Believe it or not, I am going to start with standard servos and I am using 3001's!!!!
I wanted to see how this flew using BASIC stuff so new people wanting to save money will know what can be expected. Later I am going to upgrade to metal head, 3rd bearing support, carbon blades, etc and then drop in S9252 digitals. Bob

Hey Bob, Chris here. I am a very new newbie and you have cough me up and love watching your videos. I wanted to say thank you very much and ask a small favor possible of you ( I know everyone is asking you everything). Is there any way you can number your videos so that the newbie can follow your videos in some what of an order? I downloaded your other videos and well being as new as I am I got them out of order because I don't know what order the steps should go. I once again thank you very much for the videos and I only wish I could enter your contest, but I am not very good being creative. I had some thoughts but just don't know how to get them on paper. Have you ever though about a live video broad cast on something small where people can ask questions while you are doing the video? Also I usually don't post to forms, and your videos have inspired me to. If you ever need any help and need someone I would love to return the favor, I just don't know what I could ever help you with, just wanted to extend this to you for the great videos.
Have a good week and looking forward to your next video on the swift. Chris PS do you prefer bob or finless and every time you get an email I look over to see if I got mail and it took me a couple of times to figure out it was yours. |

Thanks Bob on the servo #. 3001 is basically a S148 with BB I guess.
I am curious on the Futaba S9451, MG, HT, HS, 2BB, CM and will work on 6V. Same $ as the S9252. I know how you like the MG in the HS-65 that you use on the T-Rex, changing out gears is no fun after a while. I see Century has pulled all the 550 and 600 plus combo's for now. |

FOr the swift the Century ESC doesntr come with a BEC. I am running a 4.8V flight pack up in the nose. This also helps with CG on the heli as well as rudce chances of glitches or lockouts.
You could use a BEC but get at least 3 amp BEC. Most servos rated for 4.8V will run fine on a 6V REGULATED BEC. 9252's run fine on a 6V regulated BEC. Bob

Too quite!!! We all thought my tach was bad reading 1900 HS in normal the very first hover..... We used another tach to verify and yep.... We all stood in dissbelief how quite it sounded and still thought the head speed was low....
Cant wait to get carbons on it and bring the HS up more. I am thinking 2200 to 2400 would rock! Bob
