Default How do i repair my stator stack?

OK I'm in trouble:

Following advices on this forum about removing the green powder coat I have threwed a 2221 stator in aceton and then carfully pealed off all the cover.

But during the acetone bath the stator plates has started to separate. I tried gluing them using CA and then the stator didn't fit the holder - its too high now...

How do i clean the plates without damaging each plates insulation?
And then which way is best to stack it back together??

I also checked and the 450MX stator is not a good fit - inner and outer D are bigger on the scorpion.

Hey this guy had all his plates apart and found a way to get them back together.
Maybe it will help some, he used loctite 410 to coat the outside of the stator as a unit and didn't seem to add any between plates.

using epoxi works for shure.
best way is super liquid "injection" epoxi and stacking and pressing the plates on a dummie.
but most important is, to get the real number of plates into the stack!

otherwise you will get a higher n spec because of les iron.

if we speak about scorpion is the easiest way to ask them for a new uncoated stack.

Hi Ralph, thanks for your reply i was waiting for it

2 questions:
is the right trick to stack it on a dummy and then deep it in the epoxy? or different way? what about using CA?

second-I'm unfamiliar with injection type epoxy. can you point on any specific one so i will know what Im looking for?

thank you

without the dummie you can't press the plates enough to get back the old density again.

you also could use CA, the most liquid type.
the only thing against is the cyan-acid smell when it becomes to hot the first time.

and yes, the winding will hold the stack together after this.

about the injection epoxy:
I don't know numbers and types (got it from a friend).
only thing I know is, that it is fluid enough to use capilarity to go into the stack between the plates - just like CA.

Sucks your motor fell apart, most of mine do seperate some, but qq the wire usually pulls them back in.

problem is i wasn't prepared for it otherwise i would have wired it so it will not separate.

for now i made a hybrid: i took the 450mx stator and holder and adjusted the scorpion bell to it .

The interesting part is i got 1915kv on that instead of the 2010 i got test winding the complete scorpion. the air gap is bigger here - but i thought that supposed to make the KV higher and not lower?
