Default Newbie - Please Help!

Hello,
I am looking to buy a Tx and a flight sim...I have already decided on the flight sim (neXt) - I am a Mac user...
But now I am left with the difficult decision of which Tx to go with.
Futaba, or Spektrum?
I like the DX6i...and have heard good things about it...but would I be short-changing myself with this Tx, should I look at the DX7 or DX8 instead?
Cost is a consideration for me...so I am trying to keep things relatively affordable.
Any recommendations or insight would be greatly appreciated!

This is the wrong section for this post, your not going to get any help in here. Go down to the opentx section and start looking at the taranis x9d plus should be perfect for what you need

Just looked at the sticky on the opentx - seems like one needs a degree in transmitters to make sense of all of all the options and adjustable parameters on the Taranis
Trying to avoid biting off more than I can chew, but I guess there is no getting around the learning curve (and a steep one at that).

Opentx has gone through many revisions since then and is a a lot easier to use. I'm only speaking from experience as a former dx9 owner, I would advise you to not purchase outdated tech like the dx6i or dx7/8. Voice alerts and telemetry are something your going to want in the future
