I would like to purchase some for the new Align V2 tail for the 700 which is all silver and has two radial bearings and one thrust bearing per side. Do you have some weights that I could try on them?

The new V2 metal tail takes longer bolts than the 700e older metal tail. The older tail had 16mm bolts. The newer tail needs 18mm bolts but actually comes with the 16mm which are too short to go into the nyloc part of the nut. Does the longer 18mm mean the older version might not work on it?

Good catch! I did not realize it was using a longer bolt. My current 700 Align metal weights would be too short. And with that much change in the grip I should actualy do testing to design the new weights. But I am real busy with my real job right now so it isnt going to happen soon.

Thanks, HJ

How much of the bolt sticks out of the grip for the nut to engage with? If it is less than 3.5mm it is not enough to be safe.

Sirolf, Can you show a picture or see how far the bolt sticks out of the grip? The new Align V2 700e tail (grips are completely silver) does need a longer bolt than the previous Align tail (black and silver).

Ordered a set of the weight mods for my 450sev2 can't wait to try them out!

*edit*
HJ informed me they shipped today such a great guy! shipped them super fast.
I'm waiting patiently by the mailbox to hopefully bring my unruly tail to be rock solid,
also bought a set of KBD tail blades since I have read they work best with the chinese weight mod.

Default How is Chinese weight mod Installed on Threaded Metal Tail Blade Holder

Hello Heim Joint,

I have a Trex 500 with the Align metal tail rotor where the bolt hole is threaded on one side of the tail grip for the tail blade bolt to screw into (i.e. there's no nut). How does your mod install for this configuration? Do I have to drill out the threaded hole or do any drilling to install your bolt? Or does it just pass through the threaded hole and the weighted nut screws on the bolt with no drilling?

Thanks,

Phil

Yes the bolt threads through the threaded hole and the weighted nut screws on the bolt with no drilling.

After watching your video's and reading through this thread I think I'll order some for all of my birds.

What material are you using to make them Heim? Have you considered using stainless steel?

TIA
