Default Brushless motor resistance.

So I just bought a motor off ebay.... OH heck i know...

So Am I suppose to have contenuety from the motor case to the Power wires. I have like 1.00 ohms resistance front the motor wires to the Motors case. This is not ok correct??

Edit:

This is a scorpion HK4025-1100

wat is your multimeter set on... ? Ohm? Milliohm?

Ohms

It goes from 1.50 to 0.80 ohms depending on what wire i am connected too.

I thought ohms measured resistance, not continuity. I though it was different. What does the MM say when you touch the probes together?

Quote:
The inverse quantity is electrical conductance, and is the ease with which an electric current passes. Electrical resistance shares some conceptual parallels with the notion of mechanical friction. The SI unit of electrical resistance is the ohm (Ω), while electrical conductance is measured in siemens (S).

Quote:
An instrument for measuring resistance is called an ohmmeter. Simple ohmmeters cannot measure low resistances accurately because the resistance of their measuring leads causes a voltage drop that interferes with the measurement, so more accurate devices use four-terminal sensing.
everthings conductive theoretically, air, rubber, wood whatever.

Yes technically everything is conductive to a degree. Lightening can jump through a tree but in the same regard it jumps from Miles up so whats through a tree. lol. It is in Mega Ohms so the odds of electricity traveling through such a thing is slim. but can happen. Heck even our bodies can transmit. If you have a good meter you can actually get a reading.

Continuity to me just states that there is a usable circuit for current to pass.
Ohms is a unit of measurement that defines the circuit resistance.

And the DVOM or Multi meter reads 1.2-0.8 ohms when Measuring resistance from the motor can to the Power wires. I double checked and nope, that is certainly not ok. so I have contacted the seller to setup a return.

Thanks for your time man. Sorry my question was unclear.

yes thats not good, commonly refereed to in the industry as a grounded motor , one or more leads have some continuity to the case ,1meg ohm or less for industrial motors is common, usually caused by insulation break down.
