Not likely...

Heli's are a single percentage of HH's business...and believe it or not, the FP models far outsell the 3D's...

Last time HH did a V2...was when the mCPX was "upgraded" to a V2 board and caused all the brushless conversion problems using the HP06 and stronger motors due to vibration tendency

However...I would not be surprised if the 180 gets an S version with a brushless tail motor...perhaps in the stretch size to offer a bridge between the 130S and the 230S

Makes sense to me. I would wait also. Still have 180 running OK.

There will always be much more availability of 180CFX parts vs the Oxy...pick any model and search...Lynx parts are the first to disappear from stock

Lynx has never been able to keep up with demand for parts for discontinued models...and with much of the attention diverted to the Oxy it will most likely get worse long before it gets better

Availability of the LYX1523 is nearly zero...and the stretch belt kits are headed the same way with definite answers that there will not be a stretch belt conversion offered for the 180CFX...most likely an attempt to push toward the Oxy2

Honestly, a pro belt upgrade is 70$, stretch might be abit more, if there is an oxy kit for around 160$ (can't see why the plastic version won't be around that price) you might as well get the oxy as it will be much better then a 180 with upgrades. ( I sure hope so)

Yeah, the oxy 2 will essentially put the 180cfx to pasture. The price point in the base oxy 2 might be very attractive.

The stretch TT kit is $40...but the Oxy2 will most likely be more like $210...

Even if you use modest electronics you'll add another $150...

Making the Oxy2 nearly double the price just to get it in the air...

And for $40 more you can buy the 270CFX

Yes let's compare apples and oranges...And for 20$ less you can get 470lp which will be much better then the 270...

The stretch 180 has a TT and flies poorly requiring more space then an oxy 3, I am sure the oxy 2 will be worth it if you want to actually fly in a small space and have great reliable performance. If you want a cheap heli to bash at a field then the 180 fits the spot ( but then the 130s is its replacement basically...)

180cfx 200.00
Upgrade tail servo 25.00
CF tail boom 13.00
Boom clamp 10.00
Servo stiffener 9.00
Metal swash plate 20.00 =474-500 more or less
Yes, I know, you don't have to upgrade any part to get it flying, but soon or later some of us start to spend money because ....Any reason...

OXY 2 210.00
Plus electronics
Around 300.00?

That is without upgrades for the OXY

Wonder if they going to to offer the plastic version and for $?
Now, those 210 for the OXY is going to stay like that?
Or is just an introductory price?

The plastic version should be cheaper, the 215$ is basically for the tareq edition ( called factory edition ATM) so looking at oxy 3 pricing the sport kit should be 40-60$ cheaper...I sure hope it as that would be bomb...

Thickfog, a table centerpiece...LOL.

And I was ready to order a new 180cfx.......
Will wait for the plastic version and see what way to go, plastic or the factory edition.

I don't use Spektrum, futaba, so for me I have to use a micro ikon and s-bus or k-bar and Rx, that I already have both, if it fits in the Oxy, kbar doesn't fit in the 180, if not, I will have to get the micro ikon and the s-bus, that ad$ more to what I expected to spend if I decide to go for the oxy.

Time will tell

Just wait until the people start flying it and hear their experience, not the fan boys, those will come and rip their clothes apart first, praising the heli, a little longer and the true will come out.
Not expecting to be a failure, don't think so, but wait.....

Also the mini goblin is coming. Deep Impact. Can't wait to see what they have. Oxy 3 size, Oxy 2 size? No one is sure.
That one may be the one for me!

Thats an awesome post.

Yeah, I think we can be sure the Oxy2 it will be a good heli. But waiting until the dust settles makes sense. You will get a better idea which electronics people prefer etc. Plus if the standard model is cheaper and lighter thats a bonus too.
