Default T8FG in combination with the skysport T4YBF

Hi Guys,

I currently use two identical Futaba T8FG transmitters (7,2 DC 1700mAh) in trainer mode with the trainer cord (Micro Plug FUTM4415) and this works perfectly in order to train other pilots. But I would like to use a cheaper solution than the two T8FG transmitters. So I thought of the Futaba buddy box skysport T4YBF.

My question now is whether you can use this buddy box with the ordinary trainer cord (Micro Plug FUTM4415) or do you need to use the trainer voltage drop cord (FUTM4405)

Well I know that not all transmitters are compatible in trainer mode with the T8FG and then you need the voltage drop cord, due to the voltage difference. But the Futaba buddy box skysport T4YBF is not a real transmitter with all the electronics and does not include or require a crystal, battery pack, antenna, charger or any flight pack components. has anyone experience with this buddy box and know which cable I need?

thanks

The description page at Tower says that it doesn't use a battery pack; that means that it's getting power over the trainer cord from the other radio. Therefore, you should be able to use the regular trainer cord just fine.
