Default Soon to be NEW Align Rudder Control system?

So like the DFC head it started with the 700's then now the 450's. I could only imagine the same will happen with the Rudder Control System.

It seems like a good cheaper alternative to the KDE performance tail? What do you guys think?

Of course they are coming out with a new tail. I just upgraded my 500 so it is only natural that they get something really good. Looks sweet! Hopefully it is the answer we all are looking for.

IMO Align needs to fix all the problems they have with there other setup that are out there already !! Before they make new problems !!!

Already got the KDE one for my 550 although if Align can do theirs at a better price then it'll be a good option. 450 could really use this setup though.

What issues are are you thinking of? Aside from the underrated ESC in the 550, I really cant think of much that needs sorting on any of my Align kits.

??? Did you ever hear about the 3GX???
I tried two new ones and had to go with a AR7200BX !
Also agree about the ESC...
Main gears are never round ??
Sloppy TT gears??
Only one Align servo arm for each servo??
Sloppy bearing in tail blades ??
Just to name some ....

Went with a AR7200BX after the esc on my 550 fried the 3GX, honestly dont notice much difference. And I havent noticed much or any of those other issues you list, Align kits has always been great to me with one exception, the 250. Tail om that is crap

Hopefully Align will make a tail rod guide for the 550 that works correctly.

I like it. Will eliminate the slop that will inevitably build up around the current ball design.

Bad design, puts radial presure on the slider in the extremes of the slider range. Best way to do this kind of stuff is using the system they use on the Protos, Rave and Fusion50. That said, i have the stock v1 tail, with over a 1000 flights...... it has slop, but acceptable. and it flies like its on rails.

I think you have me confused with someone else?
Unless your talking about the reset in flight?
I have never had a reset in any of my 3GX's ....!
But have had backward drift from day one...!
With both of them.
Now fixed using a AR7200BX, after over 90 flights with the 3GX's backward drift!

Agree with this. I have a slider of very similar design on my three-bladed tail assembly, and I'm looking to replace the tail after about 50 flights. There's too much vibrational wear on mounting screws that hold the u-bracket to the slider. This area has to be very well engineered, bearinged (very small!), or sleeved with high strength materials. The U-bracket needs to be steel, not aluminum. The holes in the u-bracket go oval with time in aluminum, leading to a lot of slop in the slider.

The tail unit I have to replace it with is the best I've come across (in 3-bladed tails) and has a slider built like a swashplate. The only (BIG) problem with it is that 5mm tail shafts are being supplied undersized (way undersized), allowing the slider to rock on the shaft, creating ... vibration. We are plagued with poor quality tolerances in some of the most critical flight areas. I don't mind telling manufacturers I'll pay an additional $30 bucks for good fitting parts where it counts, rather than lose a $1000 heli to poor QC.

Have you seen this? http://www.rc-tek.com/us_store/i2rc-...bly-p2277.html

They also have a dual blade assembly http://www.rc-tek.com/us_store/i2rc-...bly-p2274.html
