I had a light crash on sunday that stripped 2 stock servos. No big i got around to replacing the servo gears today and started into a beastx setup. On item f 2 stock servos emitted a puff of smoke and became extremely hot.
I checked and it was the the 2 that stripped. Both of the motors were loose inside the servo casing. Time to replace the stockers. Im thinking savox. Higher torque servos will help the heli cope with wind better right?

i dont know about the wind thing ... but i know that higher torque (but not too high) is good. Im going to get Spektrum H3000 servos sometime and a mks ds95i for the tail eventually. I cant wait.

I personally found that higher speed/torque servos flew better in the wind. Did a back to back comparison with the stock units (in good cond - never damaged) and MKS and the MKS setup was more controllable. The stock heli flew great as well...just not in high winds.
I get hit with alot of wind where I live and find I can fly with up to 15km/h now and do inverted, rainbows, tic tocs etc in these conditions and not constantly stress out. I have flown in 20+km/h winds but landing etc is hard during the gusts (which pump up to 30+) and inverting the heli is a major problem. I do prefer 0-5km/h winds though!!

+1, all went well, until I inverted crahsed and destroyed the 8024. I now have the stock tail servo on 6V via a diode.
All working well.

That's pretty much what I went through, as well. I also had one fail that had never been crashed. I really like the Savox servos. They are so quiet and smooth compared to stock and they've survived several hard crashes.
I'm pretty sure that any of the four brands of metal gear servos that normally get mentioned in these types of threads (Savox, MKS, Spektrum, Hitec) all perform equally well. Quote:
