Default aluminum servo mounts are worth every dollar/ pictures

I have converted my 2 minis, however at the moment I am building a 6s mini for a fellow heli guy in our club. I figured I would take the oppurtunity to snap a few pics. I wish I had a decent video camera so you could see just how easy the mainshaft drops thru all three bearing blocks on it's own. No messin around either. I could never get the plastic servo holders to get this silky smooth particuarly thru the lower 3rd cnc bearing especialy and I messed for hours with them. The aluminum sevo blocks solved it and again no messing around either
Yes that is an ice lite 50 up in the nose.

Any crash survivablility/ unintended breakage issues with the metal blocks?
my plastic ones always desintegrate when I have a good crash...sometimes breaking a frame side too..

If it would SAVE rebuild time it would be worth it...alignment of shaft would be great too.

I tried mounting the Al. 3rd bearing block today doing a maintenance rebuild. Had some bad threads, disappointed. Needs tapping.

Went back to plastic. Aligning takes a bit of time, but the shaft pretty much falls through.

I keep 2m, 2.5m, 3m and 4m taps on hand. I chase all new aluminum parts prior to assembly and after a locktited screw is removed to clean out the old hardened locktite. I have dies to chase screws with to clean off locktite also but hardly use them as screws are cheap and I usualy have extras on hand

How much heavier are the Al mounts compared to the stock ones? I'm just curious...
