you don't, the 11xg is designed for a li-fe battery (which charges to a max of 7v)
the only thing you can change is the low battery alarm check the manual to find how

Why would you want to change to a LiPo, LiFe is the better choice for a TX. Just do not charge with the included JR charger.

7.5V for a 2S should be fine.

The LiFe battery lasted about an hour.... LiPo is in there and not showing any sign of wear yet.... it is a 3s LiPo...

3S, yikes, the TX has been designed for a nominal voltage of only 6.4V, a 3S LiPo will give a nominal voltage of 11.1V far too much for the voltage regulators inside the TX. The low battery warning for a 3S should be at 9.9V. I have no idea if the warning can be adjusted that high.

The stock battery should last a great deal longer than that.

I can charge the one in the XG14, then fly it for 5-6 days (averaging 4-6 flights each day), and the battery is still not run down.

BTW I fly on weekends and my battery lasts for longer than a month, the default low bat warning for the stock LiFe battery is very conservative, I once left mine on after the warning and it still lasted for 40 minutes before the TX shut down.

The factory default setting, which I think is 6.0 volts.

I have only ever had the Low Voltage Alarm go off once.

I have second TX battery pack (LiFe after market) for my XG8, I have to change the plug to suit the TX, does anyone know what type of plug this is?, I think it is a jst brand, but for the life of me cannot find one or a part type anywhere.

I cut off the one on the original battery. .. it sucks since the LiFe holds for half a day of use only...

it's a JST brand (J.S.T.Mfg.Co.Ltd )
you will need a crimping tool
battery lead
housing = XARP-02V
contacts = SXA-001T-P0.6

to make a charge lead (to charge out side of tx )
this housing will work = XARR-02V
contacts = SXAM001T-P0.6

Cannot see that you get only half a day of use. Do you charge it with the included charger till the LED goes out on the TX or do you charge it outside on a normal charger? If using the recommended charger that came with your TX then there might be something wrong with the charging circuit inside the TX.

yes I charge it with the regular charger that came with the radio. The fact that I cut off and then resoldered the connector should have no impact...
I charge it until the light stops...

BUT I do have to charge it almost daily...
Will try to measure the capacity next time I charge it.

goodhunting,

I would contact JR service.

You may have something going on in the transmitter that is draining the voltage at a more rapid rate than normal. I had this with a different brand or receiver once, many years ago.
