Default V-bar or wait for Align 3G?

I am about to convert my 600 ESP to FBL.

Should i wait to see what Align comes up with, or just go for the v-bar?

BTW. It is winter now so i am not in a hurry

My thoughts exactly... I was going to hold out for the SK720 (and perhaps Align or CY etc)... but then I figured why? It's going to be months... and to wait for early patches etc.. it will start cutting into my flight time starting March.

So I just bought a mini-v for my 500 and v-bar for my 550. Both units 3 axis and tried and true.. and with the new 4.0 V software.. its amazing! You can install and try the software for free.

Even next summer... when more units are proven... I could still sell the Mikados.. they aren't going to drop in value THAT much.

Looking at the site, the PC software is free and V-bar Firmware is $20 euros for upgrading the an older V-bar unit to the current software revision.

So, this means, when the new V-bar revision is released we'll have to pay for it!

The V4 software upgrade for an older unit is around 20 euros, the pc software is free though but useless without the software being on the actual unit.Any future software updates for the unit will almost certainly be chargable also.

I would personally wait, the price difference is simply too big to ignore between the systems.

Price difference, people spend big money on bling that does nothing and what about what a 611 costs?

I do not think in the scheme of things its really all that dear, its the heart and soul of the helicopter

I would wait and see how other people rate the align one before making the final decision.

Default fbl

im looking to go fbl on my 700E but unlike most say here i find the price for the new align unit a bit disappointing if you compare to the proven mikado witch is on version 4.0 now compared to align version 1
align wil likely be 435 icluding head
mikado without head is 474 plus 100 for a head total 574 dollars
So for 140 dollar more to fly mikado what to do what to choose????

To be fair, please make that calculation for or a 500 or smaller machines.

Also, don't forget to sum up the Align main blade set included.

Have you seen any information about included blades in that price?

Well, me to. Is it really worth that? One crash and you are going to spend 125 usd on your Radix 710 blades. If you crash with a vbar machine, it would probably be your own fault

if u need a fbl system now i would without doubt go for mikado , dead easy to set up even for a beginner and big support at forum if u cant get it right, mikados system u know that u can move it around to other helikopters if i want

align i would wait.. no 1 knows how it work yet. so far only 1 report and a pro flying on videos that could fly anything so it looks good anyway

it maight work the treat but i have doubt in a system that doesent look that u can uppdate or adjust anything your self. simple things like if u have elevator servo in front or in the rear should make a hole lot of difference.or if u want to run a blade witch is not align.. just to save a few bucks, i maight be wrong and i hope it will b a good system. i guess we will know in a few months when it is enough out there

I definitely agree with you, but I would like to see Mikado on more reasonable price, maybe under 400 bucks.

I'm "blown away" by the Mikado VBar. I've been flying a fly bar Logo 500 for about two years and finally got a Logo 400 in the air a week or so ago. It's fantastic! It's become my preferred heli in two flights. I can't imagine that anyone can produce a better system - now that Mikado have the VBar so far ahead it will be hard to catch up until a new technology in introduced.

Go for Mikado now - don't wait, there is no need to!

I agree, the V bar is awesome,IMHO its worth the price, its one of the best things for helis i have ever spent my money on.

Unless the Align system is as good or better you could give one away and i would not want it.

i say if you're in no rush then why buy anything right now? im a mikado guy myself but there's nothing wrong with letting them battle it out on your behalf and wait for the reward. now if you ARE ready to fly then waiting is just wrong. buy mikado and dont look back. but i can tell you this, all the talk about align and the 720, etc. being better or worse or whatever is all hearsay and speculation, only the beta crews know for sure whats up. you aint gonna know untill you know. spend your money while you have it and fly when the skies shine.

I went with mini v-bar and then sold my 500's head and AR7100 receiver and net cost was only $325!
