Smile Beast-X + x5 = awesome

My bad luck has hopefully ran dry.

Good news is I decided to try the beast x on the X5, and im speechless, really nothing bad to say, that's a shocker

I guess gaui had this figured out from the get go.

This is a winning combo, to say the least.

I flew pretty much all day, mostly dialing in the beast and learning its control
parameters, which are really straight forward.

The setup was easy to follow, key is "follow" the instructions.

It flew really stable and felt locked in from the first flight with no adjustments.

I have somemore tweaking to do, I got used to the other fbl controllers"feel"
i have dialed it in some, but its hard not to fly, when im supposed to be adjusting
And next thing I knew the sun was going down, darn.

Some other things I added from stock fes kit form was
YGE-100 esc, abec-3 bearings all around, kbdd tail blades, gaui cnc boom supports,
gaui cnc boom clamp, new design gaui x5 swash, quick Uk rocket links, Rjx 520mm
fbl blades, battert stop plate and stiffener kit( bonded to frame plates)
*and kbdd lime dampners(2350 hs) rex 500 landing gear struts. (Stiffer than stock)

Glad your liking the BeastX!

What firmware are you running?

If your running 2. Download V3 much better.

i got her all dialed in today,

slight *tail drift to the right in rate, 1 turn of the link and its perfect.

im using the revo mix(low, norm) and its working great,

tail gain is set to 51,( para D on low)
control behavior on extreme
pitching up on low
cyclic response on very high( still very crisp control , think the bl servos are helping here)
pitch boost on high

time to break in the new batterys.

I tried the 15t , now with gov store @ 85%.

Really like the power here vs the 14t for the hs I was trying to hit.

I better leave it alone now, its flying great.

here is a link to my hv setup, with a dsmx sat

Hi

I am also interested in buying a X5 FES with mb and YGE ESC. I have two questions:
Whick HS and dampeners?
Do you use an external BEC?

Thanks.

Yge-100
15t gov store @85% throttle is around 2350 headspeed
kbdd lime green dampners.

Seems low but im swinging rjx 520mm's fbl blades.

I was able to run 14t as well, just turned the cyclic gain down to default.

The right combo of heli and fbl controller is key, took me a while to figure that out.

Thanks for your answer. I use a YGE with gov store in my TRex500 and I think as well that the YGE's are great but I use an external bec and I wonder, that you use the bec from the YGE.
