Wow! That isn't too bad considering the stock canopy is what? $69 or $79? It's been a while since I checked them out. Looks great!!

I got my 6hvu in the air this weekend for the first time in months. I had issues finding parts last year and once that was resolved released I had damaged my fbl unit. Had it up for sale briefly. Now I am so happy that I kept it. I forgot just how well it flies. Love my 6hvu!

Will be at least another week before my canopy arrives. Should get the 25mm carbon tubes about the same time...

Decided to switch up my very old 9254 tail servo for a bls 256hv. Now i won't have the step down for a little cleaner wiring and matches my 7hv now so can simplify gear sets across both models as my bls255 on this are same drivetrain as the newer bls272sv cyclics on the 7hv as well.

It's been sitting for a bit since a crash and I had to take the frame off one side anyway so will be very easy to swap now and line up the horn before putting the frame side back in.

Did some updates to my 550U. Switched out the old Align DS610s and JR8900G for a set of TGY-815M (Yes Hobbyking servos!) and a Rotorstar tail servo.

I'm using the 550U as my basher heli and wanted to get good performance still but not have to care too much about the electronics. At $54 USD for a Brushless HV servo why the hell the not?!? I've been beating them up for a while now and they seem to be holding up fine. Also means I can run the whole lot at 8.4v via the Hobbywing 100a V3 (which is awesome btw) so cuts down on clutter.

Been practicing inverted autos as it's something I don't do enough of so far so good.

Still hate the paint job of the stock 550U canopy. Will have to change it at some point.

I read somewhere they compass was coming out with a new canopy for the 550U. Ive been waiting for it cause I dont like the stock canopy either. Right now im using a 6hvu canopy but it looks a little too big and im sure it weighs a litte more as well. Hopefully they bring it out soon

I've just not had a good opportunity to get decent pics, but shot a few on the table. The new Mask Pro canopy on the 6HVU and carbon boom + carbon Min Air struts. The ends are very robust...with a ball joint for the anchor point, so they accommodate the angles. Also fitted the Custom Heli Parts carbon tail fin which is a bit more robust than the stocker.

Thanks, guys. I've been pretty happy with Mask Pro so far. I've owned two Sick canopies now, and they are somewhat better, but cost alot more, and took forever to get. No correspondence from Sick for months at a time. I don't like that.

As for the carbon boom and struts. Just did it for something to do. I bought a matte finish carbon tube for my 700N, and was pleased with the CF quality. Thought I'd see how they turn out with the glossy. If I had a place to go have matte finish frames made for the 6HVU, I'd have a set done, and match it up with a matte boom too. The matte finish is much more practical, IMO, and looks very cool.

Thanks, RAK. I thought she could use a new hat when I take her out to dance...I actually damaged the original pretty handily, so I needed a new one.

As for the carbon items, definitely not needed. LOL, I won't replace them, if they are somehow altered.... I've never broken a plastic end on a Compass support though. Those are very tough. I believe they are tougher than metal equals, and affixing with screw is perhaps better than epoxied ends. Was just something to do when it became too cold to fly, and I had an idle bench.

That looks mean! I especially like the carbon bits. Ive been wanting to do that, as well as a carbon clear finish/paint canopy.
