i agree jeff. no-ones pulling the wool over anyones eyes. All the pictures of what your getting are out.,..no surprises. Yes they showed the high end version first, and it will be available. Releasing this version first does not make it some sort of scam or ploy.

Ive held it, flexed in and seen it fly. At $200, i think its about right. When we thought the prototype was $200, was anyone NOT shocked at the low price?

Ill likely make it a winter build, let some freaks put a few hundred on them and see how the airframe fairs. i likely would have done the same (or will) for the "bling" model

I don't think there is anything wrong with people posting opinion if they do it respectfully. That's the beauty of these forums

I'm totally for opinion .... but it should be substantiated, especially if it has potential for negative impact and damage to a product or brand.

The internet can be dangerous and sometimes unfair because of this ....

Claims should be substantiated, opinions are just that. Actually he didn't really say anything directed only to Gaui, it was a general opinion on marketing tactics. Anyway, many people don't like plastic. For the record I agree with you, plastics are not necessarily inferior.

If public opinion of a product is negative, those opinions are just as valid as anyone else's.

Exactly. Heck I said the X3 looks great and I have never seen, touched, felt or flown it. Nobody seemed to mind that opinion.

A negative opinion is not the point, its totally valid and welcome. The posting seemed to suggest gaui is doing something immoral or intentionally misleading the consumer. thats what bugged me about the posts. Im sorry if im out of line on this one; I have no horse in this race. It just seems unfair to suggest Gaui is somehow screwing the consumer by simply releasing a basic version of the kit first

Default Gaui reveal new X3

I think the bulk of the negativity stems from people who just feel let down that were expecting the originally revealed helicopter. This helicopter being released now may perform well, but is still disappointing to those that were expecting a kit more inline with other models in the X series.

yeah i think gaui did not do a good job of getting the right info out there.

especially if your going to show one model that has mainly cnc parts. and that gaui uses alot of nice cnc parts in stock kits.
so taking that into consideration, it would be easy for some to get the wrong picture of what the heli is.

a simple notice would have made it alot less confusing.

for instance , when the nx4 was released it look dam close to the pics and videos they showed.

i think that is why there are so many mixed reactions to the x3
, it is still not too late to have a "official" statement about the plastic version and the cnc version.

Pictures of kit look awesome. I really like the servo layout, canopy, and the the way the upper bearing block retains the bearing with the screws for fast easy change outs. This little machine looks like a real gem.

I think some of the problem is with vendors releasing information, pricing, etc. before the manufacturer has had a chance to confirm everything.

Gaui did not state the prototype was $200.

The one thing Gaui did not do was come forth and clear things up when info was leaked. Then again, they are sticking to their plan with release dates.

Disappointment on model price and options doth not a bad model make.

Did Gaui even come out with the official pricing statement? RcHeliCanada still lists the pre-order price at $25.

It just seems silly that it seems nothing, or little to nothing official has come out, and yet people are up in arms about this great injustice/bait and switch or marketing ploy. Everyone ran with bits and pieces of leaked information and now it doesn't hold true. And now somehow Gaui is doing something undesirable? Gee, I wonder why companies try to keep everything close to their vest.

I can definitely see why Gaui would want to tweak and test a prototype using machined aluminum. It's plentiful, quick and easy to work with.

When that initial price was leaked out, did you really think it was going to be exactly like the prototype - a fully blinged out CNC bird? No little flag raised in the back of your head that this seems to be too good to be true?

Talking with Empire/Gaui at IRCHA...

Seriously, the upgraded metal component kit will not be much more than the plastic. Also, there are a lot of us that prefer plastic over metal on the smaller/higher head speed kits, they are less prone to vibration issues and I saw the x3 plastic kits totally spanked running 6s and the held together just fine....

This is a seriously fun heli...

another factor that can not be realistically talked about untill people get them in there hands is how strong is the plastic?

im not going to speculate , time will tell. the release date is inching closer.

We've been around long enough to know that until the distributor lists the price, we won't publish because things can change.

I know the price of the kit, but until it's official ......
