Jan said he was going to start adding a few things to support more powerful powerplants.
I expect we will see a new high temperature main gear at some point too. I wonder if he will evern go so far as to start offering "bling"

Yea, not the easiest thing in the world to install or adjust the mesh afterwards.
I replaced the double washers with those metal shims most tail blades come with, bit easier to install as they're one-piece. They do seem to work though, not a single mark on any of the 45xx since I tried them on.

I received Jan's stiffeners in my kit but decided to go with Mick's frame brace instead. Well I was going to use both but the holes for the brace would have been blocked by the washers for the Henseleit stiffeners . Mick's brace works great, no marks on my 4530.

Hhmm,
I think, from a constructional standpoint, the crossbrace from Mick or something like it in general is a better solution imho.

I looked at those. Not bad, but lots of work. Gluing the stuff together, gluing in the nuts. Too imprecise for my taste. If we could "wake up" Mick, that would be great. . .

I have some extra 700E? standoffs that were about a mm or so too long for the upper frames that I just dremeled down and used. Doesnt look as fancy but gets the job done without taking up much room.

It seems to me that the stiffeners made by Jan are not bad actually.
They are alike to the ones on the xxtreme. The idea being in that when you have 2 carbon sheets which are pressed together and held eith bolts but with a spacer In between , the whole construction is not liable to bending . So it stiffens the side while adding little weight. The ones in alu cnc are for keeping the frame from slanting, they look nice yes, but add weight. For a pure race Heli like Rigid TDR 90 the carbon ones (the ones from JAN) I like very much.

EDIT: I am not throwing off on Jan's stiffeners. They look great and Im sure they function as intended . After all it is a genuine Henseleit part, so you know it is top notch quality. EDIT 2: Jans stiffeners do in fact weigh more than Micks brace. But we are talking grams here so no big deal.

Not much added weight by the Micktech brace, I think...

I have been using Jan´s stiffeners successfully since August last year on my second TDR with Scorpion 4525LE
I must admit that I have increased the distance between the main upper carbon frame and Jan´s stiffeners up to 5 mm using aluminium bushings. In this way the stiffness of the ¨sandwhich construction¨ is increased significantly Grtz Belgoheli |
