Sorry for the delay in responding... Hadn't been following this thread closely over the winter. I purchased my wire covering from wirecare.com. It's 1/8" Flexo F6 Braided Sleeving.

Thanks for the compliment. Just now saw it.

Congrats on the buy!!!

But please, please, please be extra careful when you maiden it! That is a huge step up in terms of size and flight characteristics! If at all possible, I would highly, highly advise that you get some local help from an experienced heli pilot in your area to help make sure that the bird was properly assembled from the factory and that it's setup and programmed correctly. Don't trust "Bind 'N Fly" on a bird that big.

If you don't have any local pilots in the area that can help, make absolutely sure your AR7200BX's sensor directions are setup correctly and that your control inputs are correct before hovering it. For safety reasons, maintain at least 30 feet distance from the bird at all times (even when hovering) until you're more comfortable with it. Please don't hesitate to post any questions you may have here in the forums. We want you to be safe and want you to enjoy your bird, and we want to help make that happen.

And to add to Uriah,'s post do not hover it with the tail pointed directly at you, these have been known to throw the tail blades. Other than that, great purchase and good luck with the maiden, enjoy your new heli.

Thanks, nowhere near ready to fly it yet, still using the little one and practising on the sim with the big one. Will be a few weeks before this one even gets to see daylight

a good healthy dose of rational fear never hurt anybody!

Sounds like you have the right attitude and recognize the step up involved.

FYI: this bird likes to dance a bit if you don't put her up as soon as possible during spool up.

Good luck on the maiden Dave!

Cheers,

Nice!

You're farther along than I am! I bit the bullet and ordered the shiny tail parts when I discovered my bearing problem but am still waiting

Hey "d423"
In that last pic of your 500 it looked as if there was a brass washer on top of the tail pitch lever bearing attachment.
Is that the brass raised edge washer that ships with the AL tail case?
I couldn't determine where that dude went, but I installed it over the tail gear shaft up against the left side bearing (raised side to the bearing face). After reading a couple posts, I think it is correct, but HH sent no info with it to explain it.. What ya think?

You have it installed properly.the one in the pic is a seperate smaller washer i installed cause the bolt was diging into the alum a lil bit.not really nesessary.i actualy added another thin shim in addition to the brass one in the kit to compleatly get rid of the shaft end play. I dident need it with the last shaft but some have more tolerence than others.
