Default Blade CX2 Aluminium Carry Case

Hi Guys

I'm considering buying a case to put the Blade CX2 in for transport and storage. I don't want to pay a fortune for such a thing and have seen lots of cases on eBay for £15 or so that I reckon could be adapted to fit by cutting the foam.

Anyone done this? if so, what did you buy? How big does it need to be to hold the Blade, txmtr, a few spares, charger etc?

I'v been looking around to and have found two one my heli-tote.com nice only $18.00 but you have to use the foam that your cx2 came in from the factory but the draw back the cx2 is really hard to get out of that foam and the transmitter is even harder. If you have the extend inner shaft I think in would work. The other one is on line at horizon hobbies.com for $46 bucks it is real nice with soft foam in side hard shell around that that seperate pocket for radio also if you plan to up grade to a cp that will fit to I'm still trying to decide but I think I leaning to the one for $46 dollars take a look and let me know waht you think

For the CX2, we (my dad & I) just use a large tote bag. Heli in bag, TX in side pocket. I got that idea from my dad doing it!

Hi guys and thanks for the responses.

I can feel a trip to the tool and camera shops coming on over the Christmas holidays. I'll keep you posted on my findings.

The aluminum cases are your best bet, we have 2 of them if anyone is interested not on back order.

The foam inside is cut and we can post pictures if needed.

Anyone pick up one of these aluminum cases? Thinking about ordering one but I'd like to see pics first.

Default Carry Case

Here is the one I have. It's big enough for 2 CX2s, transmitter & tools. It's 72cm long.

It comes with 3 layers of pluck foam (1cm squares) that you can break away as you need it. Make sure you decide on exactly how you want it set up before you start plucking because it's practically impossible to find affordable replacement pluck foam:

Try Lowes they have aluminum tool boxes with the break away foam for around $26. I got one for my DX6i. I am sure it would work great for a cx2. You will have to lay it on its side though, they are not that deep. It would work great for the helis. I may have to by another one for my CX3.

Bringing this back from the dead...

Let's see those CX2/3 cases guys. I've got a CX3 that I'd like to ditch the box on. Something that will hold the CX3 and the DX7 would be great. Trying hard to not to spend an arm and a leg on this.

Thoughts?

For those of you in the US, Home Depot sells a metal case in the tools dept. that is perfect for use as a field box. It comes stock with dividers, but you can remove them and cut foam to suit your needs. List price is about $25. I've got two of them, one for my radio and accessories, and one for my LiPos and chargers. You could easily fit a CX3 into one, with room for the Tx. I would include a link, but oddly this product doesn't show up on their web site....
Very similar to PatriotFront's box, about the same size.
