Default Main shaft / autorotation gear play

I noticed I have some play in the bolt holding the autorotation gear. As a result I can rotate the head a bit while holding the gears still. There is no up/down play. I have two main shafts, both the same. The bolt is brand new. Gears are fairly new and not damaged.

Have you noticed the same, should I order new set of parts and hope they fit better? Should I tighten the bolt even more? It is already quite tight and I'm afraid I break OWB. Or is this something completely different?

I had the same problem. Turns out the bolt was the wrong size change of bolt later and all is well

Thanks. The bolt is the standard one from Align. I understand you got it fixed using such as well, i.e. not using oversized bolt?

both my helis are like this....if you tighten that lower bolt too much it can mis-shape the owb collar...just nip it up and use some locktite to keep it there

My bolt was an align one too. The replacement was also align. Go figure lol but the replacement worked. I wonder if there are 2 sizes like a v1 and v2 that they haven't told us about yet

So it's not just me then??

Gents, could you be so kind as to measure the bolt you had the slop with and the new bolt that allows minimal play, and post here?

I thought there was a massive amount of play in my auto gear train, but after going through the lot it's only that bolt causing the problem.

I'll see if I have it but I tend to be a little OCD with bolts and throw them after they have been used (ESP if they caused a problem)

Hey Martin, did you end up finding the old bolt?

If not, what was the Align part number for that bolt if you have it please.
