Default Battery and Battery Tray Velco

First, is the model suppose to come with Velcro on the battery tray? Not the strap, but flat piece on the tray. Its displayed in the exploded view but didn't come on my model. I was unable to find any Velcro spares in the bags or in the box. Perhaps its there and I just missed it. If it came in your package, not on the model, where did you find it on the package?

Second, any suggestions on sourcing fine Velcro for aftermarket batteries? I've been using the Parkzone stuff on my UMX planes (link below). But its kind of expensive for what you are getting and they give you way more of the soft side (loop) than the hook side (scratchy). Since the hook side is needed for the packs, you end up with a ton extra soft, loop side. I'm thinking of just moving the soft loop side to the model. That way I end up with a bunch of extra soft loop side to use on the aftermarket batteries. That's how I setup the Velcro on my larger models anyway.

Yeah I placed the Parkzone/E-Flite hook and loop velcro on the battery tray.

I only use their velcro for my ultra micros as it is thin, allowing you to place batteries in battery trays and battery cavities where room is limited. Some velcro is too thick, making it difficult to install a battery.

Also some velcro may not bite enough (hooks are too big for Parkzone or E-Flite loops already installed).

Mine didn't have any either. Although I have now put some on the tray, I did see if you put the battery on the tray with it facing up on the Velcro strap, that holds the battery quite well. I assume that is how Blade wants you to install them but I do think it's easier with additional Velcro on the tray.

I mentioned this to HH Support on the phone yesterday and they confirmed that the intent is to velcro battery to strap. It seems to hold fine on mine.

It's fine the way it is. If the motor was an outrunner then id add more. By the way, the "soft" side is the loops, the scratchy side is the hooks. Hence hook and loop. Velcro is the company that made the first hook and loop fastener.

Thanks. Wasn't sure what to call each side, but figured that everyone would understand "soft". I did test it as described, but didn't care for that method as it allowed the battery to move for an aft a little. I realize its not actually going anywhere. But I'd rather have a little more hold on the packs.

I like the way the Velcro holds on the straps... works very well. I thought that you had to mount it on the tray too but then when it snagged on the straps it was all good.
