These will break before you strip your servo gears. Hopefully, lol.

Just as an aside, are you sure the servos were actually damaged, or did you just strip the gears? Sounds like you just stripped a couple of gears. The gears can be replaced, assuming you can find replacements.

Servo saver is a cut in the back of the servo horn to allow the horn to rotate around the spline under increased load.

This works great for smaller helis (180 CFX, TRex 150). I have not seen any reports that the normal flying loads on 450 size heli will not exceed the servo saver give capacity mid flight. This load is why larger helis (500 size and bigger) can not use this mod.

DFC is known to transfer the impact force through the swash to the servos. This is because the DFC links are so strong to handle both the swash rotation synchronization and the pitch adjustments. DFC is designed to lower the distance between head and CoG to make a heli more agile for 3D flight.

Non DFC heads (ie. with washout arms to sync the head with the swash) have weaker links between grip arms and swash and these tend to give before servos in a crash.

Hope this helps.
