Default back on my 500 from 450 pro

Well it been a 6 months since flying 500, i mainly used my 450 pro over the winterto try and improve my flying, used the 450 for learning my orientation, ive learnt side to side/tail hovering and to me basic flying around but im struggling on piro and nose in hovering.

On the sim i have no issue, but for real its another thing, when i try to piro i get caught out but the swing of the heli when it rotates.

So my question is am i silly using my 500 for learning over the 450 pro, The 450 i tamed down using the swash mix and flybar weights. Looking at the 500 now on my bench its so intimidating the size.

So what is the forum decision idiotic or sensible to use my 500

Just fly it. After the 10th pack or so you will get used to its size.

The 500 is soo stable and easier to see. Whenever I fly I try to divide my time between the 450 and the 500.

I fly a few packs on the 450 to warm up and them switch to the 500.

It depends which one you want to work on/repair. The 500 is more stable and easier to see when it's further away from you (safer). However, crashes are a little more expensive. If you don't mind the cost, the 500 is also a LOT nicer to work on.

If the cost of repairs is a concern, the 450 is your friend. Slow the headspeed down about 30% (lower the throttle curve and raise the pitch curve) to calm it down, and use Align's wooden blades, which are cheap, stable, minimize damage in a crash, and work great for hovering and sport flying.
