Default How do I work out motor RPM?
As the title, how do you work out what rpm the actual motor is doing at a given throttle percentage??

Only sure way is to measure the head speed and calculate from gear ratio.

Agreed. Measuring is the only true way, but you can get an approximation by using one of the online headspeed calculators (for 100%).

Another option - if you have a smartphone - is to use one of the apps that measures headspeed; you can reverse engineer motor rpm from there if you want. I use "Heli Headspeed" on Android and it is very accurate...matches up exceedingly well with my governor settings on my esc.

Ok, so my gear ratio for example is 9.75:1 and my headspeed is 2000 rpm at 100% TC. Would that equal 19500rpm for the motor??
