Default FMS foamy motor angle

Hello have an FMS corsair 1400mm foamie and I notice the motor is angled
to the right as viewing from cockpit. I assume this is deliberate but not sure
why this is needed?. It seems when I fly the whole plane tracks at an angle
(yaw) I wonder if the motor is angled to much. Any comments would be app.

This is the equivalent to the tail rotor on s heli. Keeps the plane fr spinning the opposite direction of the motor.

What you have noticed is something called Side Thrust.

Side thrust is used to counteract the torque from the motor which can force the plane to yaw left. Adding a little bit of side thrust counteracts this force and helps to make the plane track straight. .. But strangely enough, trimming the rudder also does this ! Alot of rc planes have about 1 or 2 degrees of side thrust built in.

Also, you might have down thrust, this is when the angle of the prop is pointing a degree or two downwards. This helps to stop the pitching up of the nose as you fly.

The best way to determine if your side thrust is correct is to put your model into a vertical climb and see which way it turns
