I think I have it figured out my issues and it looks like its just a wacky gyro. As soon as I can afford it I'm getting a GY520.

To get it 95% drift free;
I wound up moving the ball on the servo horn to 6mm out from the center of the horn. I am using a DS3400G and it seems to be plenty fast enough with the ball that close to the center.

While doing some test hops in hh mode, I adjusted the rudder center to -8 to acheive as minimal drif as possible.

Switched to rate mode and then readjusted the linkage rod for a proper mechanical setup (horn is still not at center but it is close).

slowly increased the gain in all flight modes to +74 for hh. I may be able to go higher but this seems to be working pretty good without any wag.

Adjusted the gyro delay to 50 to reduce bounce.

It still wants to trun left slightly in FFF but sense I drive the tail while flying this is NBD. Also while hovering, it will still very slowly drift right but the rate is very slow.

So, inthe end, it looks like Tmoore was pretty much right on target. Thanks!

My understanding was to keep the delay at 0 with digital servos.

I am done with this gyro. It worked for a day and half then at lunch today it started wagging back and forth about 90 degrees. I wasnt able to get it stopped and lost orientation. Damage so far - CF rotor baldes, bent feathering shaft, flybar.
Main shaft?...main hub?

Increaseing the delay can reduce the amount of bounce.
