Note to self: ensure the battery strap is secured before flipping the heli >_<

Default New 300x

Got my new 300x yesterday. Put 8 flights on it today. Flys very well.
I've had a 450x for about 3 months and have about 300 flights on it.
The 300x is no 450x but still a nice heli. The 450x has more power and presence.
The 300x is nice in a smaller area. I have the TC @ 72% No Tail wags or other issues
so far. The tail rotor servo was out of alignment and I corrected that before the maiden.
I wish the BeastX was on top like the 450x so you could see the status lights. I'm using
Sky Lipo and Gen Ace 25c packs and getting flight times of about 6 mins with no 3D, just sport flying. I ordered some 250mm CF main blades from HeliDirect.

Are these the 2200mah ones? Do they fit easily?

I am using the 25c 1300mah. I was incorrect when I said 30c.

stevebaker, those are some really nice photos. You've got a good photographer. They showcase the 300X very nicely.

Thanks guys. I'll pass on your compliments to the photographer. He's using a Nikon D800.

These are still in raw format - he hasn't improved them yet with some post processing :-)

Really nice, with a 70-200 f2.8 I guess... smooooooth background
(I'm waiting for the D600, D800 is too much money for I would do with it...)

Please let us all know the out-come of your 300 X!
Got it back in the exact time they said it would be... 10 days - (there) and they fixed it all and made it look like new. I will fly it tomm to see how it works.

Main shaft snapped - (honestly I think it was a bad batch on a few of them).. thats all. Prior to that it was flying perfect.

Being around manufacturing, I understand and fully see how it can happen. I will not name names.. but if you guys or anyone thinks there is 1000 people that can R&D a product for them, or they have some huge testing ground of 2000 people that would be silly. For lack of a better concept, they do what most do. Engineer it, make some.. using materials that can change in a month and then make a run. By all means I do not think they WANTED some bad main shafts/metal to happen it just does.

As long as they fix it and repair it and make good on that issue I still think HH is one of the best companies to deal with in this hobby. Every issue I have had they have addressed.

Let me know what other company does that, I would like to do business with them.

That's Really Great news that you received your 300 X back!

I've done a few stints as a QA Inspector and doing a 100% Inspection is a no go every single day and I Definitely understand that "lemons" can get past the purview of an Inspector and out to distribution.

I've dealt with the Horizon Hobby's Customer Service folks in the past and have nothing bad to say; they ensured that I had as little 'down-time' from not flying as is possible within their control. Many a company could benefit from benchmarking their processes in dealing with Customers.

After getting it out today, sadly it is a bit off -- I need to level the sawsh as as soon as I took it up almost didnt get it up even it drifted to the right... I was hoping they tested tested it... but right out of the box, it needs to be adjusted.

It felt sloshy but yeah I can't tell yet. Need to fix it.

haha ya it was hard flying into the sun. I was actually standing with the sun on my left shoulder and the photos were just taken looking into the sun.
