Default Align GP780 gyro question

Hello all,

Forgive me but I am new to this and cant figure this out. I want to get the gyro into HH mode which per the manual is indicated my a solid GREEN light. Mine is stuck in normal mode which is a solid RED light. I have read the manual multiple times and it says that setting gyro to over 50 should put it in HH mode and under in normal mode. I have tried it several times and cant get it to go to HH mode.

Any help would be great.

have you got the tail gain assigned to the correct channel? and is the Gyro connected to the correct channel?

It sounds like you may have something reversed. Check each setting with the manual.

thank you all for the replies. I do have the rudder and gain plugged into the proper channels on the receiver. The gain is in AUX2 and the rudder into rudder per manual. I still can't get the dang thing in HH mode. I have tried over 50 and under 50 in the TX under the gyro. Any ideas?

If you mean in the TX changing the gyro to R i did that and nothing, still in Normal mode. I just cant figure it out. I have been through the manual step by step. Tried reversing channel and then above and below 50% still stays in normal. Do I have to hold the set button on the gyro down. It does not say to do this but im willing to try anything

ok for my 780 and my dx6i I have the servo at normal. Under GYRO I have the rates at 0- 57.5% and 1- 56.5% and it set on sw-f.mode on the right corner. I think below 55% it goes in rate mode instead of HH. Also is the rudder working while in the rate mode?

Sorry, you haven't really answered to this question, and I think that is the problem you are experiencing.

The rudder seems to work in rate mode, it just goes back to center. I have it set to 70% per the manual and still no HH mode. I have reversed the gyro and still no.

I have heard that you can plug the gain into the GEAR position of thte receiver but the manual says to use aux 2. Should i try the gear position.

you set whether you use the gear or Aux2 channels in your radio

Like I said in a previous post, which channel do you have the tail gain assigned to?

That will be the problem

Hey I used to own a DX6i and by default teh rudder gain was definately on the "gear" channel as it is fior DX8 ..from memory ..Aux 2 is Aux 2 ..its spare unless you assign it to rudder gain... just check that first.... other than that you must have reassigned rudder gain to Aux2 somehow...just my opinion. its been a while since i sold my dx6 so can't check it for you but all the spektrum radios 7 and up assign to gear by default so I am lead to believe..iv enever NOT used gear for gain. see how ya go with that..

Cheers

That was what I meant too, i was asking about the transmitter setup, not the receiver.
