Default TDR2 - Video and Pics

Had the maiden today ,was windy and cloudy but went very well.

warmed up with a couple of flights on the beater 1st .

Then started with the 716 mains and 116 tails on the TDR2 as suggested ,no resonance issues , heli was too heavy for 716's for normal 3d flight unless you wound the head speed right up .

Instead i threw on some RT760's with RT120 tails , was much better . needed 2-3 flights to tune her up and she was ready to go.

I ended up with 10 points on the head and it could still be tighter . running 1700 ,1850 and 2100 head speeds .1850 is a dream definitly the sweetspot for the heli with this blade combo , 1700 was good for take off and some soft 3D . 2100 with 14˚ pitch was amazing , the most fun ive had with a heli , no bogging and very quick .I do a power loop @2100 it accelerated as quick as the Banshee 700, The Pyro 850 Comp is sweet , plenty of torque and RPM

Helicraze came down to help with some fine tuning , thanks buddy and thanks for filming . my fault its not completely in focus ,sorry guys

a word of warning , be careful landing with the retracts installed , make sure you have a good solid surface to land on and be ready to give it a very little bit of back elevator to keep the tail down .

Henseleit TDR 2 FF (3 min 39 sec)

Wow! It seems that the TDR didn't care much about the strong wind.

Gongrats for the maiden!

I like that corkscrew-rolling manoeuvre you do at around 2'35"

So do I.

I like the fact also that the color scheme seem to be very visible even in over cast conditions.
The tail looks fantastic and visible also with the oval dots that all TDR 2 have.

NEO also

Futaba 177's with 276 on the tail

my head dampening is 10 clicks ,soon to be 11

Rails are 20grams heavier per blade than the RT's , might be the reason for higher gains

I think we have tail gains set well but we need to see how high head gains can go

craigdieselmac I would be really interested in your BD set up parameters.

Hopefully your set up is for 3D since this is what I plan on doing with mine.

I haven't really messed with anything... Head gain is on 50 .. Tail gain I am still working out, everything else, besides travel limits. Are bone stock as the BD comes. Flies great.. I'm sure I'll tweak as the flights add up, but I only have 5 total right now.

As Jan stated about tail, Took me about 8-10 flights before the tail belted softened up a bit. Had bad tail buzz in FF so was a little uneasy to get tail right. Upped my gains now and its flying great. Went to field yesterday to just spend time fine tuning and forgot to fill my genny at least I got 2 flights in. about 15 after today so starting to get more comfortable with it as well. I'm also at 9 clicks on head tension.
