Looks great. Makes me want to sell my unused TracX head for my 500ESP and get that one. Might sell it with the BeastX too, I can't get it set up it seems very complicated to me, too many menus and options. Manual tells you _how_ to change settings but not _why_ you would want to. That is my issue, deciding what to set things as. But anyhow, I digress. This is not the time/place for a rant...

But that DFC head sure looks pretty. I might have to stick with FBL after all

the beastX is one of the simplest FBL controllers out there.

Do the setup per instructions, the trim pots are not that hard to work out, the only other thing to worry about is the flying style pre-sets, just pick one. If you don't like it pick another...

Back to the topic at hand, i wonder how the mechanical gain is on their head, the old Align head you could get spot on with Vbare, the EFL head was not as good and needed some modification to get right, so where will this head sit? mechanically that is...

All parts are exposed to high strain, that means early wear. Don't think a 500 has ever been designed for such speeds unless you have a sponsor

I can't believe the batteries would last very many cycles at that HS.

The head looks cool though! I want one!

He surely got bored of doing whatever he wants with a heli so now have put some rx to a stone and experiencing some new maneouvers.

Looks like the 500 DFC head price will be reasonable at 59.99. http://helidaily.com/align-500-dfc-head-price-revealed/

Is this head going to work with the ESP?

I took a closer look at the add photo, for 59.99 your getting a shaft, the head block, and new arms... You are not getting the blade grips, or the swash!

So add 25.00 for grips if you don't already have them.

Good catch on it not coming with blade grips, I thought the price was a little low. It still works out to be cheaper then the standard FBL head though so maybe I will give it a go. These are the grips you need? http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...n-Rotor-Holder

I didn't catch that, it was late. In that case it won't work with the ESP grips.

Yes that looks like the ones duytang.

Align are selling all the DFC heads as "upgrade kits" so you don't get grips, spindle thrust bearings

In their wisdom they figured we would all just be pulling our existing "pro" heads apart and upgrading.

I was seriously thinking of getting one of these except one small issue has come up that is making me hesitate:

The main shaft (new lowered one specifically for this head) is NOT available as a spare part on the 700/600/550. Thos heads have been on the market for over a month now and there is NO spare part support for them....

Come on Align....
