1512/1.5y an option?
Greetings,
I can't seem to get a 1515/2.5D/F anywhere, so I was wondering if the 1512/1.5Y was a good choice for 6S. I have been without a motor for 11 days and I need to do something quick. I've gone round and round trying to get my 3 flight 600XL replaced through my LHS, but he claims they are on backorder. Thanks, Clarence |

Hi Clarence,
I guess it depends a little on what type of flying you are going to be doing. I am flying with the Neu 1512/1.5 Y/F on 6s and I am perfectly happy with this setup but I am not by any means a 3d guru. It is also the lightest option from Neu if I am not mistaken. Hope this helps, Serge |

correct , depending on what flying you do it could be a viable option . I run the 1515/2.5D/F , VERY STRONG MOTOR, stronger than the 600l and 600XL motors IMHO  .... but at the expense of flight time , i get 5 min of 3D. the 1512/1.5Y/F while not quite as strong as the 1515 is very capable and is IMO stronger than the 600L motor and it will do 3D very easiny and also give you a slightly longer flight time because of it's weight and uses less Amps.... several people have commented that they like this setup.... you won't be dissapointed with either motor...

If i remember correctly the 1512/1.5Y should give around 2300HS using a 10T straight pinion. Do the motor tends to bog down heavily under load or can it maintain (decent) headspeed ? What about heat ? Is is as good as the 1515 is reported to be, where overheating is more or less non existing ?

the 1512 doesnt bog as much as the 600L but more than the 1515 , still gives a good HS during Maneuvers, Heat isn't an issue from what i've heard...

Thanks for all of the replies. I decided to go with the 1515/2.5D/F. I ordered one from amainhobbies.com and it should be here in 2 days.
Thanks, Clarence
