3D+ in the making
A couple of months ago, yes unfortunately months already, I got myself a brand new 3D+. It was a flybar kit so I also got a fbl head for the 6HV with it.
After reading up in this section I also decided to get the A-arm from the Knight 3d and the I-arm from the Odin. Got a Carbon gyro tray for a 6HV and put it up front, installed the Gryphon Autobooster Today I got the motor for it and immediately installed it to see if all goes together I already have the Vbar setup except for governor. I have a CY ATGV sensor cable that I want to use. It only comes with one magnet.... Do I need to balance the fan? Place another magnet? Where do I put the sensor? I do have the manual for the ATGV and it says 20mm from center for the magnet and 1mm from the sensor to the magnet. Any ideas tips and tricks? Man I cant wait to get this bird in the air!!

Okay today fired up the engine for the first time!
After some advice from an experienced Nitro flyer decided to leave the governor of during the first run in period. Besides I need another magnet and that is coming next week. Engine ran smooth, a bit rich so turned the needle in a little bit. Gonna take her out for a test hoover so wish me luck

Little update
I have been flying or at least trying to fly with it but the muffler keeps coming loose. Locknuts keep coming off, bolts breaking, tried JB Weld permanent but that also melted away. Gonna try longer bolts and double locknuts next, then Im out of ideas to fixate the muffler so any ideas are welcome

I had that problem with my original set os55/b320. I tried EVERYTHING. On my os50/mp5 I have a thick metal gasket and just 1 all metal (no nylock) lock nut loctited on with red. Seems to be holding although I don't have many flights on it.

I had the same problem, I used to use nuts on the pipes but didnt have any around as of recent, So A buddy suggested 5min epoxy, mix it up spread a THIN film on and tighten it on. I assure you it wont come apart anymore.
Edit. The epoxy is also used as a gasket and works very well in both applications.

That has to be the slickest looking Vbar wiring I've ever seen. I recall Skunkworx' wiring on his 6HV being very neat, but it was on a BeastX.

Thanks Rob!
Sad news though..... Crashed the bird last week because of user not used to Nitro and all the vibes it gives I never ever loctited the screws of the servo horns, with Nitro now I know you should After about 2 minutes the bird just slammed backwards without any controls. The elevator servo horn came loose and that was it Damage is not too bad but I really feel no need to fix this bird soon, maybe next month..... Good news is the pipe stayed on so maybe I found something that worked. I also found that there is another type of motor mount for the 3D+, one without the dampers just rigid like any other Nitro I have seen. Gonna order some of those and hope to be back in the Nitro game soon!

Rigid engine mounts? Where from all I've seen is the dampened ones. I'd rather rigid mount it.

Do you mean Knight 3D motor mounts? That's what I use on mine and it's stellar that way. Never had any issues on my old Knight an none (other than dumb-thumbs) on the 3D+. There were a few reported problems with the original + mounts that were also reportedly cured by switching to K3D mounts, so like I said, they work great for me.
I also have to ask why the A-arm was a better option? I use mine pretty much all stock and fly it decently hard most of the time. Can't say I've noticed any degradation of performance in over 4-5 gallons so far and the 3D+ is vastly superior to the K3D IMHO. I know the A-arm is just one small part of the puzzle, but I hadn't read about people switching them out. Usually I'm good about picking up on those kinds of things.

Today I finally cracked the muffler problem. Got the rigid motormount a few days ago but after 2 flights it came loose again. today I got some new bolts and nuts in and decided not to use a gasket. Just cleaned both the motor and mufller, sanded the muffler a little bit to make it straight and what do you know!
12 flights today and put my throttle curves a bit up cause I was sick of low rpm flying. Still have to find the right v-curve cause I am not using a governor. Plan on using the V-bar gov but for now I like it, what I love it!!! Since all my E heli's are down I think I am going to need a lot of Nitro
