What motor has the most power of the 3?! I run 606's and thinking about just skipping the savox or x motor right to a stupid powerful motor.

The Quantum was very good. I run Rail 556. First flight with stock blade 570mm, the Quantum had a short circuit inside, fire from Heli! Also CC80hv dead.

I bought the savox, not a lot of flight, but it doesn't like me.
I had an highest HS with Quantum than with Savox.

Now I've the Xnova but I've only one flight with it. A very good impression but I prefer to try it again before making judgments. Not plenty of room upside, the motor is already lined .

Started my 570 project a few weeks ago, only got the basic kit and the motor, the rest is only planned, ESC could be Kontronik, but I've heard some about compatibility issues with the HKIII-4025-550...
  • Goblin 570: White/Grey -> Canomod Red Eyes or SAB Red Carbon edition
  • Flight Style: 3D
  • FBL System: Vortex VX1n
  • Motor: HKIII-4025-550kv
  • Pinion: TBD
  • Target Headspeed(s): TBD, will have to fly it but I guess around 2600RPM
  • ESC: Kontronik Jive Pro 120+ HV
  • Governor: Jive
  • BEC: Jive
  • RX: 2X DSMX Sats
  • Cyclic Servos: BK DS-7001HV
  • Tail Servo: BK BLS-8005HV
  • Main Blades: SAB 570mm
  • Tail Blades: Standard SAB blades
  • LiPos: 2x3000mah (To be decided)
Edit: Changed my mind on the ESC...

Sorry. My scale tops out at 2268 grams and even just the heli without battery or canopy is a little too heavy and pegs the scale (barely) so my weight reading would be invalid.

How about a bathroom scale? It wont be accurate to the gram but should get you a decent reading within the ball park.

From my research it seems most are between 7.6-8.2lb depending on setup. It seems to be on the lighter to average side of the 550 class and on the light to very light side of the 600 class.

Ok, I did the bathroom scale trick where I weigh myself then weigh myself holding the RTF heli. I averaged 3 readings for each of my battery pack sizes and I discovered two things:

1) Heli Weights:
  • Glacier 2600mah 12s pack - 7.8 lbs
  • Glacier 3000mah 12s pack - 8.2 lbs
  • Gens Ace 3300mah 12s pack - 8.4 lbs

2) I need to go on a diet... I'm 10 lbs heavier than I was at the beginning of the year...
