Default IT IS ALIVE!!!!

Yes.
After the pucker factor last month I cinched up the laces, re adjusted the crotch, loaded the bird in the truck this morning and took it to work. When I was done working on the plant at the sand pit I pulled it out and did a pre flight. Stepped back about 30 feet and spooled up. After the typical blade centering oscillation I opened the throttle more and it lifted off smooth as silk. Did a forward, backward, a left and a right and set it down gently where it took off from. Did another inspection and backed away. It took off and I did a circle left, circle right, and not one but two figure eights. All this about twenty to thirty feet from the sand floor. By then I had quite an audience. Landing was smooth and easy. Hovering was not too bad considering a 5 mph wind. When my timer (5:30) went off I landed again right where it took off from (hard packed dirt road) slow and easy.
It's a keeper. I still respect the damage it can inflict but I am a lot less afraid of it. For a maiden flight for the DFC head and system on a new bird it flew very good. No wiggles and waggles, no vibrations, and no crash. Tail was spot on and stopped when centered. The only thing I can ask for is more battery packs. I only took one with me this morning because I wasn't sure I would have the time to fly it and really was not planning on flying it.
It feels like a ton of weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
Thanks for listening.
Pete

Congratulations! Now that you have the nerves out of the way, you can just relax and fly!
