Here's my AX10

I wasn't much of a fan of that Green Anodized stuff....So I took it all off and soaked it in Liquid Draino for 2 minutes, And it all came off.
Then I was able to clean it and buff it up a bit.

I got a stock AX10 but I have the rear stearing mod in the mail.
Also got the high clearance lower links coming.
I got it humming on 3S lipo too.
Anybody know of any good ESC's for a brushed set up?
I'll probably just go brushless but I'd like to see some options.

Edit: Got the rear steering mod going.Loaded the tires with BB's and installed Spektrum RX...

Here is mine, not a kit just a bunch of expensive parts Pictures should say it all.

The crawler was not a " kit "per say just a collection of spendy parts >.< . I liked the idea of being able to crat my own original crawler so here is a parts listing as I remember it.

TLT-1 Axles (locked correctly):
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?I=LXVBT9

RC4WD R2 Transmission:
http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.php?products_id=522

Twisted Designs Falcon Chassis:
http://rcpcrawlers.com/product.php?p...5&cat=6&page=1

The wheels are from an AXIAL if I remember right.

The only thing that I did not master on this is the drive shafts. I am currently using TRAXXAS drive shafts and one has a tendency to pop off. The correct answer is this:

http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/index.php?cPath=26

It uses the TRAXXAS XMTR and RCVR from my rustler. I also have another TRAXXAS XMTR that has been modified to allow 4wheel steering. THis thing will crawl anywhere, I love it but the desire to get a new airframe for my 450X is greater.

Cool truck.
What motor/esc do you use?
I'm looking for something with more precise movement control.

I added a couple upgrade suspension stuff today and also put on some wheels alot like yours so I could put weights inside the wheels.

I also added some BB's in all the tires to keep weight to the bottom of the tire.

I'm almost ready to get a Losi Comp Crawler, but the problem is that there are no rocks where I live, all we got is desert and sand, and huge parking lots... Whats a guy to do in this situation? I love the concept of an electric rock crawler, and love tweaking with them...

Buy a load of A's and B's limestone or maybe some 1's and 2's or a mixture of the two.

I have been thinking about getting one of these. I guess the first question would be is, can they be controled via a DX7? Second would be were do I start? I would like to to pick up a "RTCrawl" version and go from there.

Thanks.

Absolutely. If you aren't already into the surface RC thing and hung up on using a pistol style radio, a DX7 is just great for added functions...esp for the super scale crawlers. They have winches, jacks, etc that folks use aircraft radios to operate. 2.4Ghz systems are not divided between surface and air like 72mhz and 75mhz analog systems of yore. In fact, the DX6i is a very popular crawler radio.

Research the latest info on the Crawler Forums. Beware the RTR versions. They have a lot of plastic suspension parts and weake points. Some of the better "ARTR" rigs include the Losi Comp Crawler, Axial ARTR, etc. I've been out of the market for about 6 months, so I'm not up on the latest. It's a rapidly growing segment of RC. Currently, there is also a Crawler Annual out by one of the bigger RC car mags...look for it at the local hobby town. It's got lots of good info on it.

Just got mine running yesterday. Everything seems to work but I'm holding back on aggressive driving until I acquire a Beetle Juice chassis. Right, my electronics are too exposed in the event of a rollover.

Dig is working front and rear...the Torquemaster is working like a champ (but needs to be properly programmed).

So far, so good. I've got the MHA fun fly coming up next weekend and need to prep a heli for that. Never had so much "new" stuff going on at once. I'm used to the helis but this crawler just had me screwed up. Totally different rules, so to speak.

I definitely need input for front tire weight. That's one of the first things I realized after attempting a few indoor obstacles. How much weight per tire would you recommend starting with?

i think i have about a pound in both front tires, i do know i used almost a full box, per tire, of crossman bb's in each front tire. i do know my truck weighs in at almost 8 pounds . i made all the links and frame myself out of steel, check my build station lol

i have no secrets , glad to help out , all my links are triangleated for easy crawling like the real thing, all my links are made from threaded rod and brakeline tubing.
if you need any more help let me know , my dig is also made from 2 ceramic resisters and 2 tiny switches , i still get a little power when i engage dig but it helps on the steep climbs

I just realized you were looking at a different picture...ignore the Boubon comment. That's another picture! By the way, I saw your pics in the Berg thread in RCC.

I am temporarily running uncut Proline memory foam in Venom tires
( they were cheap) so I have no room for BBs. I will eventually ad lead when I swap the tires.

Here's a current pic...
