Filling Station Help!!
Hi guys! Just purchased my first Trex 600 Nitro Pro. Actually My first Nitro EVER!!! Was curios as to what everyone is using for refueling there helis.. I've searched everywhere and have seem a lot of setups but haven't pulled the trigger on anything as of yet. Electric? hand crank? what's good and what to stay away from? My LHS Carries VP PowerMaster Nitro and comes in a metal can. Can I utilize this can or do I need something different? have seen some setups with the plastic gallon jugs but not the Metal cans.. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

You don't want to hear this, but...
VP Powermaster is not the correct blend for helicopters. Buying it based on the type of container may not be the best approach. You want a fuel that is at least 20% (up to 23%) synthetic oil (not a castor or a blend of caster / sync) and (with an engine in the .55 range) at least 20% (up to 30%) nitromethane content. Buggy and fixed-wing fuel will work in the heli motor, but it will be hotter and wear out sooner. Personally, I use fuel in a plastic bottle and I use this system: http://www.rchobbiesandmore.com/Slim...2-details.aspx It is simple and mounts right on top of the bottle. |

The one I use from Slimline is discontinued.
But, Tower Hobby has a DuBro that looks good: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGWD7&P=0 |

Thanks for the info guys. So you would not recommend the VP 30% PowerMaster Helicopter Low Viscosity 23% oil – ALL SYNTHETIC?
I was hesitant about that fuel.. Haven't seen or read of many people using it. The DuBro system looks good!! I appreciate the help

It fits the recommendations of the motor manufacturers. The typical Local Hobby Shop does not seem to carry too much for nitro helicopters. That's why you may see a lot of fixed wing and buggy fuel. If they have decent price on this, then use it. I am 100% behind supporting your LHS. If mine had heli fuel, I'd buy from them |

This is what I built. I built it so the bottle has less chance of falling over and the fuel pump is tucked away safely whilst not in use

That's a pretty cool design! Simple and effective. I plan on building a field box also. Just got my DuBro can mount system all set up.

Ticedoff8 - do you have info supporting this? I am asking because I've been flying the 15% vp power master fuel in my 600 for a couple of years with great results. Always runs cool, and have no tuning problems at all.
Thanks
