Default Msh brain manual

Can someone that already has a brain post the English version of the manual?

I doubt that it is available for public. I'm sure the testers out there are forbidden from releasing that document to the public.

The people that have the MSH Brain already are test pilots only. The General public haven'T seen them yet.

A description of the setup has been posted in an Italian forum, let me know if you want a translation.

About
MS Heli Website
For the remaining part the window shows on the right the instructions (available in Italian, French and English)

Step 1 Receiver type
RX choice: standard, SBUS, DSM2 or DSMX.

Step 2 Servos
Servo/channels neutral position and excursion settings.

Step 3 Cyclic servos
Cyclic servo choice: type (analog, digital, high end) and frequency.
Tail servo choice: neutral point and frequency (1520/200Hz 1520/333Hz 760/520Hz).

Step 4 Swash type
Swash plate type selection: H-1, H-3, HR-3, JR 140, H-3 140°, HR-3 140°.

Step 5 Servos and swash
Servos direction, swash plate leveling, max pitch and command degree settings.
The setup of servo direction is very intuitive as it is enough to give maximum pitch and click a button on the Wizard until the position of all servos is correct. That's it. During the setup phase, all servos are in Check Mode, i.e. they can assume only three positions: down, center or up, making easier to level the swash plate and setting the pitch range.

Step 6 Tail setup
Limit settings (sx/CW and rx/CCW), pitch pre-compensation and cyclic pre-compensation.

Step 7 Unit mounting
Horizontal mount on top/bottom with cables going fwd/aft or vertical on the left/right side with cables going fwd/aft.
This phase also allows to set the swash plate level for the auto stabilization function. The swash is automatically leveled with the ground based on the information provided by the accelerometers. Of course it is mandatory that the mast is perpendicular to the ground. Fine tuning is also possible from the advanced menu.

Step 8
Model's class selection: 250, 450, 500, 600, 700

Step 9 Setup configuration
Four options are available: beginner, sport, 3D or hard 3D. For each configuration auto stabilization and governor can be set.

Finally set the gyro gain from your radio.

That's all

Hello,

Not yet, I'm waiting final graphics for integration in the coming days.

Last known bug has been fixed yesterday (had to rewrite part of the HID code - yes, the unit is seen as an HID device, hence no driver needed - which took some time), and production is going well.

It is kind of stressfull to know that in a few days you will all judge 2 years of my work

Thomas.

Hello,

PWM is not supported yet ... that should not be so long to add, but I'd need at least a PWM receiver for testing.

It won't be there upon release (units are already programmed) but probably not long after. Depending on the workload itself depending on the first feedbacks.

Thomas.

PS : what are the PWM receiver available on the market ?

Another vote for a Mac versions here. I totally understand that developing for two platforms is time consuming, but please put it on a project list - there's a lot of Mac users out there.

Congratulations on getting your project to this stage, I am really looking forward to my pre-order landing here in Australia.

Not that many, compared to windows, only 7-10% of the market is OSX (depends on who does the study).

Its a HID connection so a virtual windows install should have no issues linking with it. So you likely wont even need to reboot.

Another Mac Vote.

There is a HUGE Mac user base now. Not something to ignore anymore.

Otatiaro,

If you're going to spend any development time on another software version, with all due respect to the Mac users out there, I would much prefer to see a mobile app.
I know iPad/iPhone has its restrictions, It would be awesome if you could figure that out, but the vbar android app is great at the field.
I hate lugging a laptop around, even a small netbook still just doesn't cut it.

And since the unit isn't even out yet and we are already bothering you with requests, you should start thinking about a DMSS connection for the new JR protocol.

Just my 2 cents.

Hello,

About Mac, desertstalker I hope is right, HID is a standard, there is no driver needed and most of virtualization software can pass reports back and forth to a virtual machine.

It could be as simple as run a windows VM and run the configuration app in it.
I'd do a test but I have no Mac here

@snemi00 : mobile platforms (Android) are a target we would like to support in the future.

I'm using a Samsung XE700 on the field for configuration ... small, fast, 5h+ battery time, I just love it

Thomas.

[EDIT] No to be honest ... I don't bring the Samsung at the field anymore ... I just get a BRAIN, put it on a heli, run the configuration wizard (takes about 2 min except the first time), close everything and go to the field. I'm not good enough pilot to feel the slight increase in performance I could have by tuning parameters very finely.
