Blade 130x vs MCPX

Hey guys. I just got into the micro heli scene and it is a blast. I like my MCPX but I got it used it is Jerry rigged and beat up and will probably only last a few more flights. I like it enough to get another or new this time. Is a 130 better? The MCPX is a little tank. I have crashed it a dozen times and you pick it up straighten the blades and go again. Is the 130 as durable? Or should I stick to the MCPX?

Mcpx brushless version. Really improved alot over the previous. And the 130x is very frustrating.

That is my exact opinion as well. I will say the 130 flies like a champ when meticulously maintained, but who has time for that. Ain't nobody got time for that!

The mcpx v2 is MUCH more durable than the 130x. It does not cost that much to replace all the plastics, especially from somewhere like eBay. And if you upgrade to the mcpx bl head it's damn near bulletproof. 130x's do fly bigger and better (when functional) but they are a maintenance nightmare, along with being unreliable in general. I have seen my buddie's 130x smoke two servos during consecutive flights, both times causing a very hard crash that broke the frame, took out the tail, etc.

The Mcpx bl is very fast and while still better in a crash than the 130x, not as robust as the v2.

MCPX v2???? You mean? I mean the bl version is nice. But I can get a MCPX v2 I think new on eBay for $130. I don't need a bl version. The v2 is improved and even more robust?

The V2 is barely an upgrade over the V1. If you want real power and a tail that actually holds then the BL is the one to get. If I got another micro it'd be the BL. I had a V1 mCP X and a 130X. As was said earlier, the 130 flies very well but can be a headache after a few crashes or even just from lots of hard flights. The original mCP was decent once you learned the finesse required to fly it beyond basic sport stuff but the weak main combined with the weak tail made it way too sensitive to bogging which subsequently caused blowouts.

I would go for a bl verses a modded brushless mcpx. less problems and plenty of power. I turned throttle to 65% on the bl and it is nice and smooth and has plenty of power.
the 130 does fly better it is a great flying heli but it can be finicky.

Looks good- considering your getting 5 batteries for free as long as shipping is free or reasonable that's a good deal. There are many mcpx new unflown on in the classifieds as well.

Sweet. I got a MCPX bl for $160!!!!

I splurged and went on eBay. I got 5 tenergy lipos and a 6 port charge board fr the lipos for $30!!!!

So excited. May just be selling off the bigger helis. These things are a trip!!!!

mCPX BL is a little wild eyed crazy person. It's twitchy and nervous but a lot of fun.

130X when flying right is really stable and easy to fly. But the tail is a constant source of headaches. I have two of them and they're both down right now with tail issues. This is like the fifth time now I've had to deal with this. I honestly don't feel like spending more time on them. I really do hope Blade revisits their design because a 130X with a better tail drive would be amazing.

The 130 is like a high maintenance girlfriend. Great when she works but a pain most other days.

MCPX BL loves to be pushed hard.

It sucks at hovering (stupid tail bounces). Isn't that smooth at certain things but when you start flopping it around it really shines. Easily one of my favorite helicopters.

The mCPX BL is ok but the tail seems to struggle to keep up in high torque.

I think they designed it with the expectation that people will crash it often. It's ton of power but no room for error.

While it can still take a crash and get right back up, the landing skids will break to a point they need to be replaced and the stock boom will sling out of the frame a lot and eventually splinter.

I think an average 3D heli pilot would enjoy the 130X more than the mCPX BL because you can have more control and grace in your 3D moves, while the mCPX BL looks at your 5% cyclic movement and laughs while it zips off into the trees.

Lowering throttle travel really makes a big difference like night and day 65 % is good up start I enjoy flying if more now. Using the larger lynx tail rotors make a big difference.

It is a squirrelly little helicopter. It should make the larger ones a breeze as I can control this MCPX pretty good. The guy I bought it from rigged it with different bolts in the spindle. And as soon as I put it in idle up I heard a 'patink' as the blades went flying in opposite directions. Lol! I tried to piece it bac together and it did it again so I managed to find another bolt to get it back together and it had about an inch of play in the head between head and blade grips and the little thing flew and flew smooth! It was hilarious but I ordered some parts to get it safe so I can give it to my pop.
