Perfect balance.

Post the website info soon as you get it...

Are you making anything for the 450's?
Hi Jim, I have not forgotten you.

Yes 450SA and 450 SE V2 are available around feb 2.

Default TREX250 Tail analysis, spacer upgrade and Chinese weights Reply to Thread

Everyone,

Could you just describe as to how the issue translates into the flying behavior?

Thanks.

In the simplest term. It's takes the load off of your tail servo and allows it to work less, hold it's position easier and transition faster.

What I'm noticing is that I can't set the tail right. It starts wagging at 60-65% Gyro gain. Could that tail issue be the cause?

Anyone heard anything about this? Sent a PM over a month ago, but have not heard anything yet. Am I in the queue or do I need to resend my PM?

681X is the right size to use with the preload spacer set. You need 4 bearings total, 2 per grip. The Gaui #203250 bearings (2 per pack) are working great on my 250 and are relatively inexpensive (less than $5.00 for the pack of 2). I am using a JR290 on the tail with a spartan gyro and the tail is very solid with no wag. My ball on the tail servo is at 4mm from the center. I am no expert but I think this is where some people are missing it on the mechanical setup. The 250 tail pushrod only moves about 5.5mm for the total pitch range. you want your servo to at least move 45 degrees each direction to accomplish that travel and 60 degrees would be ideal.
So 5 mm total travel = 2.75 mm one direction divided by the sine of 45 = 3.9mm ball distance on the servo. You need resolution more than speed

I agree, and it seems like a lot of poeple are just using the closest stock servo arm hole which is usually like 7 mm from center. The gyro and servo will have a hard time not wagging with normal amounts of gain.Mine is set up at 5mm,and Im just short of 45 deg of movement each way,and holds good.Im going to make up a new arm at 4 mm if possible to increase my resolution and hopefully gain also....

So where are those Chinese weights? I'm counting on those suckers to save this little guy. I'm running the 290 as well now and am hoping that I won't need to mess with the big servos anymore.

Anyone know who has those Gaui bearings (1.4x4x1.2) that's used to replace the stock Trex bearing? They seem to be out of stock everywhere. Almost done with my buddies Trex250, looks like a very nice little heli!
