Heat makes locktite become liquid again.
I've would have heated the pinion with a heat gun.
Edit: I've see you have stripped it. Then you can try to use a file or dremel to carefully split it without damaging shaft too much. Hopefully you can make it if you are careful enough.
If its a pin point screw you should also be able to grind away the pinion until the threads engaging the set screw is gone.

Thanks I did not know/think about a heat gun making locktite soft again. Next time that might help... But next time I will not use the green locktite... never again... haha.

Maybe I will just fly with 11t pinion for a while since it's not going anywhere....

If you clean the screw and threads with alcohol and let it dry before applying locktite you will find that blue locktite holds surprisingly good.

I've used a dremel + cut off wheel to grind out the set screw and then the pinion slides right off. If you do this make sure you wrap the motor with a ziplock bag or something so it doesn't suck up all the metal dust.

I have a small set of TORX drivers and one of them (don't remember off the top of my head which size) fits nicely in a stripped out allen 1.5mm set screw, and bits nicely... allowed me to get one out once.

Good Luck
Doug

+1

The torx drivers I have taper out and work great for removing striped 1.5mm hex if it's not too badly gone.

Dremel a slot in the set screw and then use a screwdriver. Just had to get some stripped button heads out of my frame...

you could also try a left handed drill bit (easy out) but as stated before i would isolate the motor from metal shavings, i would try the hex bit and slot before this good luck

You can always change the shaft when nothing else works.

Are you guys sure it is 1.5mm hex on these pinions? A 1/16 hex fits mine like a glove when I thought I had stripped it with a 1.5mm. I think many pinion gears may be in inch units. I'm going to double check mine tonight as I spun a pinion last night.

Just for future reference, the "green" loctite is not a thread locker. It's an adhesive used to secure bearings, etc.
