Default Battery for DX6?

What is a good rechargeable battery for DX6?

I saw this one http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProductD...&storeId=10151 but it doesn't seem to fit very well.

Is there a better one? Is there a way to charge it without taking it out and unplugging it?

I have a Hitec X1 so probably don't need a charger...?

The pack in your link is the recommended one. You dont have to remove to charge and it fits perfectly in the compartment. You just have to know how to install it correctly. All you do is supply 12volts and the charger, balance is built into the pack.

Any other pack will have to be removed/unplugged to charge or have an extra lead hacked on to charge through. All the packs that are designed for DX radios have charge termination, balancing and low voltage disconnect built into the pack.
You can charge the OEM type LiIon or LiPo with an external smart charger but the pack may terminate a tenth volt or so before the charger is done and make it error. Not a big deal just be aware what is happening. The charge termination in the pack itself might be a bit more conservative than the charger. Dont charge at more than 200-300ma.You can hurt the circuit in the pack.

Your already running the AA loose cell holder.
Another option is to get some eneloop/lsd type rechargables.
While I loathe spring clip loose cell holders for reliability these are pretty good and should last awhile if you get/keep the contacts and the battery ends clean and dont touch with finger oil. Plus you can keep an extra set or some alkalines to pop in if you get caught low on power in the field.
