Default OrangeRX DSM2/DSMX DIY transmitter module question

I just purchased one of these to add Spektrum RF capability to my Graupner MZ-24 transmitter so I can fly all my Blade/E-Flite/Parkzone BNFs with the same transmitter I use for my other aircraft.

One question I haven't found an answer to is: Does the module transmit whenever it has power, or does it only transmit when it sees a PPM stream? I would hope for the latter.

Experience is something you gain only after you need it.
I wouldn't mind social media so much if it didn't involve people.

I'll answer my own question: The module does not transmit after power-up until it sees a PPM stream. However, it does not stop transmitting when the PPM stream goes away; a power-cycle is required.
