Josh,

I noticed you have a video on the tail, but do any of the videos show the swash being controlled by the HC3SX as you tilt it around? I'd just like to see how yours reacts compared to mine, on the bench.

I don't have a vid of that. I'll make one for you later tonight if I can.

Thanks, Josh!

I've got everything all set up now... Just adjusted the collective travel so I'm getting around 12 degrees or so +/- using an old E-Flite pitch gauge (really need to get a digital unit!).

Still a little worried about the movement I'm seeing on mine, but if yours does the same on your Goblin, I'll feel a lot better about it before I try to maiden her.

Thanks Josh.. great job! I almost have mine setup, I got the heli flying really nice but I running into trouble getting my bailout switch right. I am using a dx7s and have all the sliders going in the right direction when moving the switches, however I don't get the blinking green light. Mine moves to -100 on the diagnose page like yours but no flashing light. I am missing something....lol

Are you getting two solid green lights on the diagnose page? You may try increasing the value for rescue to greater than -100, like -105.

Then, remember you will only see the blinking light on the unit if the USB cable is disconnected and rescue is activated.

Just an update Josh. I got it figured out, as I (stupid me) didn't have the "acro" tab selected.Had "pos & inv" instead. Heli fly flawless!!!
Thanks to all in this forum for the helpful tips.

Hi Seasick78, hope you are doing fine,

i am happy to let you know that i just finished yesterday the initial setup, as i have the same TX as you, it was so easy watching your videos !! thanks !

Everything is working the way is supposed, the HOR and bailout, just one question, as the bailout switch is a release switch, do you have to keep holding it until the heli is rescued ? or you just have to push it once and release quick ?

For rescue you and how I have it setup, it needs to be held. As soon as you let go it goes back to normal. If you prefer to have it stay on then you would want to use a regular switch like I use for horizon mode, instead of the momentary switch.

I prefer momentary for rescue and standard for horizon.

Me too, just wanted to make sure i know how to use it for the first time, so if i get it right, as long as i hold it, i will continue to climb...

Well now i am fine tuning my mixer settings, and i have a small issue,

well i am getting my 0 degree in middle stick no problem on both blades, i have increased my collective travel to 80 to be able to get ~12.2 degree at max pitch, but my min pitch is 11.5 and not ~12, i mess with the collective offsert, i will loose my 0 degree in mid stick, what to do ? i know that i have a perfect 90 degree in my servo horns, and all linkages have the right length, i also level the swashplate. is .5 .6 not an issue at all ?

is it ok to have a not equal negative and positive pitch ? my pitch curves are linear on all modes -100/-50/+0/+50/+100

Also the Aileron travel value i set to have my 8 degree, this is with the pitch gauge in the front of the heli, so i guess to determine my elevator servo travel, i need to put the gauche in the side of the heli and push the cycl to front and back to determine my 8 degree ? am i right ? just want to make sure.

thanks

There are information posts but not videos to my knowledge. The software is the same no matter which radio. You just need to know the radio to make it all mesh together.

Josh:

Your videos were extremely helpful in setting up the horizon and bail-out modes on my HC3Sx (on a Synergy E7). These videos are outstanding. As I sat at my bench and watched the mixes do their work to activate bail-out and horizon I thought, I have to thank this guy. So thanks very much. Using separate model profiles in the radio is a totally great way to go.

Your work is much appreciated .

Tom,

Thank for letting me know the videos and suggestions were helpful for you as you got started. I'm glad you were able to get things setup and hopefully you are enjoying your HC3sX equipped heli.
