Default Synergy 766

Hello Guys

Im planning to order the new Synergy 766 but the 716 size.
I heard that the 716 is not available at the moment and Andy from Fastlad told me that you can cut the boom.

Firstly i dont think it will be that easy to cut it accurately, secondly what about the torq tube for 716 and boom supports.

Lastly what motor would you suggest if you have a choice between the following:

1.Scorpion 4525-520 ultimate
2.Scorpion 4530-540 LE
3.X Nova 50XX-530 Tareq edition

Regards

I cut mine down and run it as a 716. I used plumber pipe cutter, go slow. Its works great and makes a perfect cut. Run Scorpion Ultimate 520kv. Amazing as a 716.

I initially felt very uneasy about cutting the boom and the TT on my first Synergy heli. I corresponded extensively with Chris about it. I was successful on my first attempt.

Once you guys have your setups, I'd be really curious to know AUWs as a 716. Disc loading figures are what I'm after.

They'll work... if that's how you want to run it, go for it. Although you're giving up a substantial amount of blade area/thrust. It's a lot of helicopter for 693s, the airframe has really been optimized to run bigger blades. I know some folks like higher disk loading though, it's all about how you want it to fly.

Why can't you run the boom at it's original length with a 716? Wouldn't the longer boom help with tail authority?

I had a stretched 475mm Protos that I was running with 425mm blades because 475mm blade was hard to get in the past, had no problem running this way.

In fact the Protos guys used to run a stretched boom and belt for better tail performance.

You can. But having a longer than needed boom in a Heli this big will add to the pendulum effect and make the tail drag more.
