Default Going to begin planning 600SX purchase

Hi guys,

Some of you may have seen that I am looking for a 600 size heli that will run well on 2 x 6S 3300's. Unless something completely mind blowing is released between now and the time I'm ready to purchase, (which I doubt), I've decided the 600SX is the one for me.

I am pretty sure that the Logo's have very low part count, which really appeals to me, but I'm wondering if there are any upgrades that people recommend directly outta the gates of any specific OEM parts it comes with.

I am planning on doing some research to figure out what electronics I'd like, but at this point, I'll be looking to a HobbyWing ESC, and Spirit FBL, as I have moved in that direction with my other 2 heli's.

Motor and Servo's are up in the air still. So if anyone has any specific recommendations, I'm all ears.

At this point, looking to keep it simple with the following:

Cyclic : Savox Digital SC1257TG
Tail: Savoy Digital SH1290MG
Motor: Xnova 4030-470 motor
ESC: HW Platinum 100A HV V3 (with fan and External BEC)

TIA!

I´ve been using for almost 3 years a castle bec pro, has been reliable.

I was thinking CC BEC, so am happy to get that recommendation. Good enough for me.

Any need to have other electronics on this size heli?

I've seen others setup with phase sensors etc.

Beware of the cc pro bec. Mine tried to kill my 600. IMO your better off straight 2 cell lipo or bec esc.

Well... Anything can fail if you think about it. With the cc bec pro is important to wire it to 6s, not 12s. And it is also important to wire it to the correct points on your 12s setup.

If you want to be extra safe, look for a revolectrix ultraguard or a scorpion backup guard.

Interesting... I have 3 2S 450mah packs that I've used a handful of times only and have no use. Would this size work well. 1 or 2 flights outta that capacity. Never tried a dedicated Rx pack.

I would not trust one that small.
2000/2200 at least.

just get a 80a hv esc and wire in a western robotics bec that's rated for 12s and forget it. very reliable..then you don't have one more thing to charge like a 2s pack.
the hv esc's that have a internal bec is the way to go.. I have 2 , but their pricey. if you can fund it, that's the best way imo..

I agree w Tony.
May be slightly more than the esc and bec but not much if you total the two together.
YGE for 6s has worked very well for me, kontronics on 10 s also. ( that was after my castle cremations esc tried to kill my logo for the 3rd time.)

Congrats on your decision to go Logo!

If you want to avoid any issues, I would suggest skipping those servos and get Futaba or MKS.

They have been known to have an issue not initializing every time. I don't remember which specific ones however.

Without mentioning names, others have back EMF that can wreak havoc with your FBL.
And still others who's gears wear down and develop play faster than you would think.

I would also suggest a Western Robotics BEC.

Otherwise, the Xnova and HW 100 look good. That is, unless you want to go Kontronik Jive 80HV and then you can skip the WR BEC altogether as the Jive's BEC is VERY robust and can handle the job easily.

Have fun!

PS... I'll warn you now, once you fly a Logo, your other helis will start to collect dust.

Thanks for the info, fellas.

I'll do some reading and weigh out my options based on the feedback in this post.

Surprised by the Savox info. Those were the specific servos recommended on the Mikado site. The MKS route seemed to be almost 3 times expensive. Is that correct?

As for Krontronik, I'm not opposed, but seeing as I just got a HW 60A for my X3, I figured it would be easiest sticking with HW for the programming aspect. Does the Jive need a dedicated programming box like HW? In the grand scheme of things, it's not much money, I suppose. Just was thinking it would be nice to use what I've already bought.

There's no need to go with Kontronik if you intend to use the FBL gov. The HW will do just fine. You can use a model with a built in BEC if that's what you prefer.

Jive 80hv in RCdepothobbies is only $200. They are clearing all their kontronik and heli stuff for cheap. I got some great deal on pyro motors for 50% off. You can also get the HW130A with bec for $270 in hobbywingdirect.com after the 10% off code rchelination.

I had read that the HW 130A was slightly too big for the 600SX, and while it fit, it didn't balance out too well. Truth in that from your perspective?

Can someone explain the 80A HV vs 130A non HV route and the pros/cons of each? I'm not sure I get that aspect.

Higher voltage means less amps from what I understand. That's how you can use 3300's instead of 5000's

Non HV won't do 12s

.

I suspect that you may find the Mikado discontinued those servos. I used MKS on mine.

There is a nice spot to locate the Western Robotics Super BEC G2 in the back under the rudder servo seen here.

I would shy away from a 6S BEC setup the 12S is much easier to deal with.

Ok, how's this combo. Both available through my preferred Canadian vendor too.

ESC:
https://www.rotorquest.com/index.php...arch=hobbywing

BEC:
https://www.rotorquest.com/index.php...ame&order=DESC

Is this going to work well?

RotorQuest has a combo with a Scorpion HKIII 4035-450 kV motor. Thoughts on this?

Now to re-visit servos...
