Default Thoughts on the 600se v2

Are these birds mainly for low headspeed? I'm looking to swap 4000 packs with around a 600 size bird. I like higher headspeed flight over lower. I can't find a good fit for what I want other than the 600se. Says I can run 12s 4000 packs but I can't find the headspeed it runs. Any high headspeed videos or input would be great.

The original SE's are designed for lower HS flight.

I'm sure the V2 is slightly more robust but I personally wouldn't buy one for hard 3D.

I've gone through numerous one-way bearings, blade changes (to >690), and adjusting pitch & HS on my original SE and after 4 years finally gave up.

It's now been shortened to standard 6003D/SX length swinging 623's.

IMHO, If you really want to fly hard, I'd suggest looking at the 690SX that has the beefed-up one-way.

Thanks for the reply. Would 12s 4000s be good in the 690sx?

That's exactly what I run. They are Gens Ace (2) 6s 4000mAh 25C packs (from 2012).

They were a little on the heavy side though but at the time I thought they'd be fine. If you're not a hard flier, they would still be ok.

If I had to do it again however, I'd really go with 3700's

Then again, today's packs are slightly smaller, and I think somewhat lighter, so I'd have to compare weights.

Yes, I had the same setup when I had 690SX. All up weight was ~4,6 kgs.

Veeery nice autorotations.

What pitch we're you running? The manual states that anything above 11 will cause failure to the one way. Is this true? And what esc and motor did you run in it?

I was running 12 deg pitch. Never had a single problem. Stock motor 4525-370 and 15T pinion. Esc was JivePro80+HV, later switched to JivePro120+HV just for peace of mind. Never had a single problem. I don't fly agressively though (sport flying, mild 3D).

Sounds good, I might go this route. Thanks for the input

So although it's from Sept. 2011, here's my original 600SE build. (Notice, I mention using the motor in a Logo 700 "if they design one"

---------------------------

The motor is a little big but I tend to do that (have 4025-1100 in my L500). This way I can use a 12t pinion to help prevent stripping, keep my throttle curve up, and... can use the motor in a future Logo 700 (if they really design one).

I can also put a 14t pinion on it and run 2200 HS should I decide to shrink the SE to a regular Logo 600.

It is a little heavy (105g more than the Pyro) but I will not have to use a counter bearing which would add weight and limit my battery choices a bit.

Here's the latest build-spec:

-Logo 600SE w/full size V-Bar
-Heli Jive 120
-Xera 4035/3Y-400 on 12t pinion
-Futaba BLS 451's on cyclic
-Futaba BLS 251
-Edge FBL 693's
-Edge 105's (or Radix 105's)
-Gens Ace 6s 4000mAh (x2)

For batteries, try to stay below 1400g total.

---------------------------

If I had to do it over, I would use 3700mah packs and Rotortech 670 mains.

My SE really flew sweet with those 670's and it no longer ate one-ways every 15 flights. In the end however, I just shortened my SE to the standard 600 length and swing 623's.

-Dave
