Default So...a 14mm tail boom ya say?

ok...Just to let ya'll know..it IS possible...well it will be soon! Replacement boom clamps for the carbon fiber B400 body, for a 14mm tail boom...machined as a pair for complete straightness...also made them a bit longer for the clamping screw at the bottom to clear the body better..make adjustments easier...and added extra flanged support on each clamp...sad thing is...I dont even have a B400 anymore...lol damn you LMH!

Nice work. the dig caliper must be a huge help when machining parts.

Oh wow, as usual. Way beyond my expectations. That was fast!

Gonna have to get off an order for new CF 14mm rod and stab clamps for the fake horizontal stabilizer. This is fantastic. More room for the belt, and the larger tube will eliminate quite a bit more torsional flex and twist in severe movements when stretched. Also this does open up the use for guys who want to upgrade to at least the halfway decent Titan 325 tail assembly. And myself for an even newer better yet version of the raised tail. I love the fact the bearings on the tailshaft are wider apart and even thicker. This seriously reduces or elminates tail shaft wobble since the bearings being much farther apart reduce the angle of movement, this is huge.

Finally I got the clamps that I have designed to mount 14mm booms on the cnc frame.

The problem is that the center hole it's exactly 14mm and the HK carbon rods are 13.8mm OD...

Oopsy.

I missed this thread earlier in the year. Is there any chance somebody could make me a set? This is awesome, unfortunately I no longer have access to machines. B

Dang, I missed this too! Sign me up! I need about 3 sets of these. One for me and two for a good friend of mine.

The fix should be easy. Just file out more metal inbetween the clamp faces.

While were on the subject, do any of you know where to get 14mm OD aluminum tubing for a tail boom? Guy in another thread wants to stretch a 450.

I have asked a quotation for four couples of 14mm boom clamps like the ones in the picture. I'll let you know the price soon.

I actually called a number of tubing manufacturers. But ended up buying some different sizes I needed off ebay.
