The spares are very cheap. You just buy another kit, take the AR7200BX out and put it one of your other helis. Then you strip the airframe down for spares.

All three x models are shaping up to be huge hits (I wonder what the folks at Align are thinking) if HH gets this right, so I will remain optimistic. |

I think about 99% of the people that buy this will not notice if they dont stick with the stock battery and buy an upgrade. If the weight is a little different on a say hyperion vs. the stock battery than so be it. I am not going to buy Eflight batts for this heli. I have never had a good Eflight batt.I will just move it around to get CG as close as possible.

I think we shouldn't have much of a problem finding suitable batteries for this heli. There are loads of them to choose from. Oh, and you never know, the CG might not be right with the stock battery.

I have 2 Hyperion 1300's laying around. I hope these will work.I know extra weight is bad but I have seen people add small weights to the tail or front to balance. Last resort.

Never thought about small weights... Where do you get them from and how do you attach them?

When the heli is tail heavy, you don't have as long of an arm to work with, so usually more weight is required. This all depends, of course, on how far you need to move your COG. Most of my rag-tag fleet is nose heavy. I usually mount with electrical tape. I attach the weight on the rear fin (right next to the tail boom) for nose heavy, and the most forward part of the frame for tail heavy. I've been meaning to stop by the tire shop and pick up a few of the various self-adhesive tire weights for this, too. I believe they're easily cut in to strips. Should work better than bullets... just haven't tried 'em yet. Edit: should probably mention, since not everyone is in to shooting, that by "bullets", i mean only the lead projectile portion. Not an entire live round of ammo! |

I have seen people use washers. For a nose heavy heli all the way at the end of the boom requires only a little wieght to make a big difference.

That is a great price at Ampdraw, practically a steal...and shipping is only $7.99 all the way from the West coast to the East coast, where I live. I have bought from Ampdraw in the past, my most recent purchase was the MQX. Their prices are the real deal and I have never had a problem with them.
I just emailed them about when they will charge my CC when pre-ordering this bird and they replied that they will charge the CC as soon as the order is placed because they do not store any CC information but you can cancel the order anytime before the order is shipped and receive a full refund. So just a heads up for those also pre-ordering from Ampdraw. Last edited by JookSing; 02-17-2012 at 03:04 PM.. |

In the never ending quest for more info. I see on the horizon hobby UK site, they have the users manual and parts diagram posted..
My favorite quote from the manual thus far: --- Caution: The Blade 300 X is intended for pilots with experience flying aerobatic, collective pitch helicopters. The Blade 300 X is more responsive than other Blade helicopters, such as the Blade SR. If you are not an experienced 3D or collective pitch helicopter pilot, do not attempt to fly this product. --- |

I think if you can fly the MCPX, you shouldnt have problems with the 300. I will probably get the 300 at some point.

As long as it is as good as they are making it sound, I don't mind waiting till late/mid April... although hopefully they won't have to bump it back again.

Thats what I did, I did my first 3d maneuver after only a week of flying years ago when I started. I started with a 1000 dollar 450 T-Rex and futaba radio. Fixed it, learned what needed to be done to set it up properly and then decided to learn the basics after the first crash cost me about 100 dollars. (give or take its been 6 years since that day). But still their will be guys who quit, and their will be stubborn guys like me that refuse to accept defeat And end up being able to do 3d without killing the bird every time I go out lol.
