Thanks for these vids. I've nearing completion of my 6HV so i didn't have the benefit of Finless' guidance. I am looking forward to the remaining couple of vids though; especially i'd like to see how Bob places his electronics and routes the wires. BTW, what's an "assmebly"?

Oooops, where did I make that mistake?

FYI now I am having another problem. My Vbar is resetting when all the servos are moved under load. Both Sat RX's also reset. Going to get another BEC but I have a feeling I may have a bad power buss inside the VBAR.

Bob,

You didn't end up using this by any chance
http://www.western-robotics.com/herc...-HV_plane.html

Its the 1 you said you were going to use on this build.

I have it also and have the same problem, however mine has only just started to reset my unit under load [ skookum ] and as a result just started looking at flight logs, voltage is off the hook with spikes of 11v showing and nothing under 7v.

I'm switching to this now http://www.western-robotics.com/herc...BEC_plane.html

No it is not what I was using. Most people I know are using this:
http://www.western-robotics.com/herc...ini_plane.html

I was using some other BEC but it is turning out not to be the problem. If I run a straight 2S pack to the Vbar as the voltage drops below 8V it starts to reset. Using a 5S nicad back it just wont work period and resets moving one servo only. I am waiting for another Vbar unit as I think there is a problem with the buss in the Vbar. OR it is the servos I am using as they are used servos. MKS is sending me some servos so between the 2 one of these is the problem.

It maybe another week before I know. I had no other Vbar to try or servos. They are on the way.

Still not ready yet. 3 funflys in a row (Joe Nall, Sand Diego, and Trabuco) have kept me busy. Also Jury duty all this week

I am upgrading to MKS servos and they are coming this week sometime. I will need to reshoot the servo install and setup with those.

So I am just as eager as you to get this thing flying!

So another "hitch in the get along"

At Joe Nall I got my X9303 upgraded to DSMX. Cool! But now I see there is a recall of the TX for a compatibility issue with some DSM2 Rx's. My worry is what about Vbar and DSM2 sat Rx's? I am not sure I want to take any chances and will need to send my radio in for the update.

Good news is my MKS servos should be here this week so at least I can get some more vids shot of reintsall / setup using them. These servos look real good and while I am sure the Align servos may have been fine, I think this will be just the ticket!

OK back to the build FINALLY!

My X9303 is off to Horizon for the code update and I got a DX8 so will be using that to finish the build. I will also be re-shooting the servo stuff with the new MKS servos
GOD these servos sure look nice and have great specs.

I got my Spyder batteries about 3 weeks ago so those will be what I will be using.

Only other hang up right now is my Dad has been in and out of the hospital all this week and is back in again today. Hopefully next week I can get going again. It's been a rough couple months honestly.

So back to our regularly scheduled program.
