Default Spartan vx1e question

I've got a Compass 550 Ultimate, running a 6s setup, with Scorpion HKIII 4025-1100KV motor and castle creations 120hv edge speed controller.

MKS HV1220 on cyclic
MKS HV HBL 669 on tail
Also, running a separate on board 2s to power the electronic.

I will be installing a spartan vx1e, which is running version 3.01 firmware and

Should the spartan be updated to the latest M6 v4.52?

Anyone got the configuration setting they would like to share on the spartan setup to get me off the ground?

If it's a brand new setup I would always start by updating the Vortex to the latest firmware. In this case it would let you use the electronic governor if you wanted.

Also, somebody sharing settings doesn't avoid you going through the setup, there isn't really a lot to be gained there. You still need to work through all the setup steps to ensure its all configured correctly.

The good news is that the Spartan Studio software guides you through everything, so it's pretty easy.

I also have a guide that walks you through everything you need from start to finish:

Definitly update. And there are good default settings in the Spartan. Even presets such as 3D and Bert Kammerer settings.

+1 on doing the update. Also I've found that the spartan flys a little better on the 550u using 20-21 mm servo horns. So if you have a set, use those. I'd also recommend using the spartan gov if you have an rpm sensor.

Start off without the governor, on any flybarless system it's best to get the tail gains right before you touch any governor.
