Default Yet another question on the 4#3Q

Hey guys, my 4#3Q tends to fall over to the left when I try to take off slowly. The trims are zeroed, the swash is level, and everything looks good. If I spin it up and jump it off it flies pretty darn good. Any ideas? Anybody? Help! Any input will help. Thanks in advance.

This is normal due to the "Ground effect" when you are flying low to the ground. It will have more effect on light helicopters like 4#3, 4g3, etc.

This is more than just ground effect. All the stock 4#3, 4#3B, 4#3Q all have hiller only heads. They need the right speed to stabilize. As you spool up, the head is still stabilizing thus the seemingly random movement take-off. You need a quick throttle for quick stabilization to minimize that random movement. However for Bell hiller heads, they quickly stabilize as you spool up. Thus 4G3s doesnt exhibit this kind of behaviour as its head is bell hiller. I have a bell hiller modded 4#3 which makes the spool-up stable thus minimizing random movements at take off;

That sounds logical. Maybe I was expecting something more like my MSR. Just spool up and lift off slowly. I think I was a little intimidated when it kept falling over, but as I said when I jump it up quickly it flies pretty good. This heli came with a metal head but it sure has a lot of slop. Gonna work on that tonight. Thanks for the input guys.........
